Awesome Training Collar
I purchased this collar for a lab/ridgeback mix who constantly pulls on me whenever we take walks. Our children have literally been dragged by the dog. I wanted a humane way of training her not to pull, and this collar works. She instantly heels and stays by my side. I no longer get jerked or dragged and can enjoy family walks and hikes with her. I was leary of the plastic collar versus the metal ones, but it's just as effective and more humane. It might not work as well with longer haired breeds, though?

Not effective
I have an active 9 month old border collie that can be difficult to control on walks. This collar seems to be made well but it is not effective unless it is placed in the right position around his neck. To be effective on my dog I must place the collar up high on his neck. That means I have to constantly adjust it since it keeps sliding down. When it is in the correct position it does help control my dog's pulling but with the constant adjusting it isn't worth it for me. Possibly this collar would work better on short hair dogs.

Starmark Training Collar large
What an awesome Collar. I bought this one after watching the Don Sullivan training videos and wanting a less expensive item. This collar completely surprised me with how well it worked on keeping a 5 month old 50 pound American Bulldong/Boxer puppy to not pull on his walk. Only like two slight reminder tugs not to pull is all it took. i love to walk my dogs and this collar makes it that much more fun!

Not For the Determined & Aggressive Puller; However--a mixed review
I have a pitbull-mix rescued from the streets of the Bronx who, I'm sure, has lived through hell. She is hyper-energetic and strong even at age 10+. I've always resisted using pronged collars but finally gave in after 8 years of exhausting walks and all kinds of training. The metal pronged collars takes the edge off and allows for a tolerable walk, but this collar is not effective because of the shorter "teeth" and her high pain threshold; however, it does work on my other larger dog who doesn't pull as aggressively, so whether this collar will work for you will depend on the age (younger the better), the nature of your dog, and--for obvious reasons--the thickness of the fur around its neck.

Disappointing, at best.
I got this for my Great Dane several months ago and it's been completely ineffective in curtailing her pulling. If anything, she pulls more against this than she has anything else collar-wise. This is far from an ideal collar if you have a 130 pound puppy that seemingly has ADHD.

NICE BASIC COLLAR
This is a nice basic collar. Easy on and off, adjustable. Great price - purchased only for a temporary, as our Lab puppy quickly grew out of it, so it was great that we didn't have to spend alot. Served it's purpose and still looked like new when we passed it on to friends who just got a new puppy.

Highly Recommended Dog Collar
I purchased this dog collar for my pet white-tailed deer. It is very nice and sturdy. The best part is that it is light; the last collar we had was so heavy that it rubbed the hair off the top of his neck. I have never attached a leash to it, but he rough-houses with our two boxers and it has remained in great shape. The reflective strips are easily seen in headlights.

Not for restraint
We have a young dog about 14 months old and 20 lbs. We had her hooked up to a run in the back yard, and the first time she bolted after a squirrel, the clasp on the collar broke and off she went. We have since gotten a collar with a more traditional buckle. It takes a couple more seconds to put on, but it should be more long-lasting. And, it was cheaper...

Too Small
Don't be fooled by the picture on this website, it would only fit a very small dog or maybe a cat, it's very rigid, and the pattern looks different also.

Collar - pink
Unfortunately, when I received this, it was not at all what was pictured, as far as the size goes. When I opened the box the collar looked like it would fit a dog for 20lbs or less. The picture shows it to be much bigger. I have a dog who is 60lbs. It would be nice if the description noted the size of the dog the collar would fit. The nice thing was the return process was very simple.

Nice collar
Nice collar. Not much to say about it. Its a little stiff since its material stitched to nylon. Nice for a girl dog.

I'm not a fan of the plastic clip but I was aware of that when I bought it. It's for my pup so it won't be on her long since she's growing like a weed.

Comfortable, Durable Collar
When I recently adopted my Greyhound mix, I noticed her shelter collar was causing hair loss on her neck. I decided to order this collar and see if the fleece lining would be more comfortable for her. Within a week of switching collars, almost all of the hair on her neck had regrown! I also noticed that she stopped scratching at her collar constantly, like she did with the old one.

The color is nicely muted - not as bright as nylon - but very attractive. The collar is also very durable and withstands a fair amount of abuse (e.g., other dogs biting and tugging it).

I was so happy with the collar, that I immediately ordered one for my second dog when I adopted her.

Nice collar but could be better
I bought one of these collars for my dog because his original collar was too large. This collar is quite soft and my dog seems to like it. I have not observed any irritation or other problems from this collar, though I never saw any problems with his old collar.

My only complaint is the choice to use a plastic D-ring to attach the tags and leash to. I would much prefer if this were metal. Even better would be if there was a separate rings for the tags and a leash. I am afraid the plastic ring might break given how energetic my dog is.

Unlike some other collars I've tried with nylon straps, the plastic clasp does not slip.

Was sent the wrong size
I ordered a large collar, but was sent a medium, which at it's longest is 19". Here it is I thought I underestimated the size of my dog's neck as opposed to actually measuring the size of the collar. I guess that's what I get for trusting the vendor. My poor dog has been suffering a very snug collar for the last five months because I thought it was my fault! I won't order again from this vendor, but on a positive note, the hemp collar is soft and less bothersome than vinyl, plastic or leather.

Well Made, Soft Dog Collar
The collar is refreshingly large, even for our Bernese Mountain Dog, so there were no worries over being too tight. The collar is easily visible due to its width, and it's softness means fewer worries about pressure on our dog's neck. A sturdy, well-made product, I would highly recommend.

Soft, comfortable for dogs. Not recommended for "pullers."
We like these Planet Dog Cozy Hemp collars that we purchased for our two yellow labs. They're soft and comfortable for the dogs to wear, and are safe for dogs who wrestle and play with each other a lot, as ours do. Plus, the colors are muted and attractive. However, if you have dogs that pull when on a leash, these collars WILL loosen up and allow the dog to slip out of it, which could be dangerous if you're in an area where there's traffic. For safety, we add a Gentle Lead or a pinch collar if we're going out for a walk, then remove it when we get home and leave these collars on for daily wear and for attaching their ID tags.

Unsatified
We have an old english bulldog and it didn't work on him. The customer service said it would when I called inquiring about the product. The battery didn't stay tight so the remote didn't work half the time. I ended up returning the product.

Outstanding training piece for large dogs!
I, like many large dog owners, was hesitant to purchase a shock collar. I have a 90 lbs, 18 month old rottie, and she is very loveable. However, her idea of loving on people is running full speed at them and their dogs because it is play time. She also seems to think that the backyard landscaping is for her amusement. Well, that changed very quickly after a few warning beeps followed by low level shocks. Now I don't even have to shock her, I just beep her and she quickly goes to lay down. I would recommend this to anyone who has a large dog with any behavioral issue. Understand that this training device will work only if you catch them in the act and it is even more powerful tool when they dont see you. Be sure that you condition them with a warning beep prior to every shock and it will work with a beep in a few weeks.

He got out of the house yesterday, without the collar on, and my husband took the collar and the remote out to get him and when he got close to the dog, he hit the buzzer sound and the dog came to him with. If it can work on my crazy dog, it can work on any dog!! I have a 2 and a half year old pit bull named lucky that is very hard headed! He was constantly jumping the fence so he could play with other dogs or the children in our neighborhood because he's very loving and loves children. Since I bought this, he hasn't jumped once. He tried a few times, but I hit the buzzer sound and if he still tried, I shocked him and he whined and ran to me. Now all I have to do is hit the buzzer and he immediately runs to me with doing any kind of shock.

good but not great
This product is basically very good and does what they advertise. I've used both buttons(tone&stimulation)with success. I try to use only tone and have found it works great. My dogs respond to the tone but on occasion I have had to use the other. The problems with this product are as follows; 1)the buttons stick..and if your in stimulation mode can cause pain for the dog(and anxiety for you). 2)The batteries go fast so turn the unit off if you're not training. 3)The collar is NOT waterproof. My dog loves playing in the sprinkler..when she's done so is the collar and it's off to the store to buy another $100 unit. Overall I recommend it. A lower price would be nice :)
