Great for the price!!!
I love this playpen, it looks good, its huge and the price was just right. its very durable hard plastic and the colors are great. i was gonna by the other one that looks like a cage from walmart for like [...]bucks which was bigger but it looked too much like a dog cage i figured id pay a little more for something that looks better in my living room since its problably gonna be sitting in my living room for a while. this was a great buy and the price to me was perfect for what i was getting. really easy to assemble and move around if you need to , very flexible for akward shaped rooms. Buy!! you wont be disappointed.

Solid Playpen, Easy to Install
I've decided to turn a room in my house into a play (containment) area for my second child. She's 6 months now, but after the first I know that I need an area in the house just for her as she grows and starts motoring around.

This playpen was easy to install and the panels link together solidly. The door works great. I've already ordered a second one so I can fill the whole room up with the playpen. Also added some baby padding underneath to make the area extra safe. Very pleased.

Very useful
I really have enjoyed this play are. It keeps my son out of harms way and gives him plenty of space to roam. My only concern is that sometimes he get's his little arms stuck between the bars and has problems getting them out. But other than that it's great. When I bought it a lot of reviewers said that the stickers came off easily so I didn't put them on and it still looks nice. I would suggest this product to some one.

Good size
The positives...The size is very good for the base purchase. Can easily fit 2 adults and 2 kids. It is very duarbale compared to similar models. The gate has a lock feature making it a choice as to how hard to get in and out. The sides are great for playing hiding games with the child. The mirror is larger and the pen itself is taller than the playzone model. It also seems more durable than the playzone model. Also more difficult to move for the child compared to the playzone model. Arrived within 2 days using cheapest shipping
The negatives...The entertainment panel is not as fun as the playzone model. A picture sticker, two spin balls, a rotary phone, and a little slide panel picture. The sides are just the right size for my 10 month old to get her feet stuck in them. (only happened once so far.)
Overall, the size without having to spend extra money for additional panels was the nicest feature. I ended up buying both playpens, because I use the big one most of the time...and the small one for travelling or in the bedroom.

Play center safety yard
This play yard is wonderful. I purchased it for my grandson who just celebrated his 1st birthday. He had been walking for a month and was all over the house. My daughter-in-law is expecting his sister very soon and was concerned about keeping her eyes on him while having to care for an infant. This was the answer. It's bright, colorful, and the toys (located on one panel) are fun. As far as educational value goes, that is not really it's purpose. It's purpose is safety and security and it fulfills both of those categories but the panel toys are a plus. This particular play yard is big (much larger than the others) so my grandson does not feel trapped. He has plenty of room to get around as well as room for plenty of toys. It was also a great price as compared to others.

This was the perfect answer for my family.

Beautiful, BUT soft wood broke at many joints within a month
This wooden playpen looked like exactly what we hoped for, nice natural unfinished wood, smoothly sanded, and capable of enclosing a large area. We have twins that turned 7 months old when we bought this (directly from the manufacturer, through ebay). We didn't set it up for two weeks, because we were waiting for a foam mat that we ordered to put under this, since we have hard wood floors. When we set it up, I was a little concerned about the hardware supplied-big bolts, half of which seemed to have nothing to connect into, but I re-read the directions, and it seemed to be stable enough. Within a couple weeks, the gate broke at one of the bases, where it is screwed into the little octagon shaped wood sections. Then, a second one broke at the same spot, at the end, where the pieces connect. I found one of the screws that had come out of the top piece, and soon, more screws were coming out-this was an amazingly poorly thought out mechanism for securing these panels together, and hazardous too. We took it down figuring that this was not helping us keep our babies safe at all. I read on the Aosom website that returns had to be made within 30 days, so I'm out of luck. We bought the 8 section playpen, plus an extra gate and two extra panels, so I spent around $135 with free shipping. NOT a good deal at all. Please don't buy this!

Great for the Most Part, Some Flaw(s)
The playpen is much larger than I expected, this is GREAT since my son LOVES to move. In fact, my son, my husband, myself, AND my dog all fit in there once while playing with my son. As for it being sturdy...I'd give it a 3 out of 5. It doesn't move around, but then again we have it sitting on carpet. BUT the one we got has cracks in the wood where the door hinge is, so it looks like its just a matter of time before the door rips off with my son (who loves cruising around using the walls for support) attached. Other than ours coming with some split wood at the door hinge, I would also suggest finding some way to reinforce the strength of the door. My son is 21 lbs and when he stands up against it (while its locked) it bends as if he's going to rip it right out. (Which worries me since as I mentioned ours arrived with cracks already at the hinges.) Don't get me wrong though if we had a better door it would be perfect.

Good Quality! Love it

I got it as a gift for my son's first birthday. He had just learned to walk and was all over the house. I had to keeping eyes on him all the time. This playpen helped me a lot. It is big and sturdy, my boy had plenty of room inside and it is quite safe for him.

I saw the reviews some other people said there were issues with the gate. I believe this new designed gate did fix the problem. I did not see any safety issue with this gate. The plastic cover is quite tough to slide, so once you closed the door, there is no gap on the gate that could hurt the fingers of child.

Also you need to be aware, this playpen is really huge. It could fit two kids easily. I do not have enough room for all the 8 panels, so I only used 6 panels. I like the way you can customize the panels and rooms you need. I'm also very happy with how I can pull the whole thing in different shapes to fit the room better. I did not mount the panels on the wall, even you could do so. I found it is sturdy enough already and my little one can not move it.

The only thing I do not like is the playpen is not foldable. But since I only have two extra panels to store, so it is not a matter for me. If you need to store all the 8 panels, it could be an issue. I have contacted with AOSOM, they said they will have next model which is foldable. I hope that model can be available soon.

Overall, I'm very happy with this playpen. My boy has a lot of room to move. The size and flexibility of the design is great. Absolutely love it!

Awesome Playpen!
I bought it last year for my first son, the setup was really easy and no manual needed. The gate works fine, and the height is definitely enough for my son. It is also very sturdy, my son could not move it till 2 years old when we decided not to use it anymore. Now we have our second boy, and we are using this playpen again. The playpen still works great! The only thing is it is hard to be stored. Other than that, it is a very good playpen.

Regrettable purchase
I purchased this product when my son was only 11 months old. He wasn't even walking yet. I purchased this play pen because it was made of wood, advertised to be a safe place for a child to play in, and offered a lot of space. I didn't purchase this unit from Amazon, but directly from the AOSOM Company in Oregon who is the manufacturer/distributer of the unit.
It was only in use for a little over 2 months, when I noticed that it had areas where it was cracked and split on half of the panels. I noticed this because my child was playing with something in his hand; and I saw that it was a large chunk of wood. The wood that is used in the manufacture of this unit is soft. The wood pieces that are above and below the dowels are not whole pieces of wood, but three smaller pieces of wood glued together. The connection points between each panel are not reinforced and due to the soft wood, split, crack and break off. The entire unit is supposed to have some sort of coating to make it smooth and keep it protected. This is definitely not the case.
I contacted the manufacturer and dealt with 2 different people. The person who contacted me via phone stated that he would replace any broken panels and that he wanted me to send him pictures. On the same day a different person e-mailed me and said that the company couldn't help me because I only had 2 months warranty, but he said that he wanted pictures. I took pictures of the unit. When I took the pictures I carefully look at every panel section and noticed that the other 4 panels had damage as well. The first 4 had very obvious damage where pieces of wood completely broke off, the other 4 had pieces of wood that were splitting and splintering and were ready to break off. Thus, the entire unit would need to be replaced, or I would need a refund.
I sent the pictures to the manufacturer and the person that e-mailed me back stated that he would only replace 4 of the panels ---with me paying shipping expenses for the new panels to be shipped to me. I was floored at the response since I sent pictures showing that the unit not only was unusable and posed a choking hazard, but had obvious manufacturer defects.
For three weeks, I repeatedly asked for someone to call me, and I asked the manufacturer several times for a refund as I didn't want 4 panels replaced and 4 panels broken. The response from the company was that they could not help me. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the last response that I received is that their manager "doesn't accept phone calls".
I contacted the Better Business Bureau and also the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The CPSC picked up the unit and is completing an investigation of the manufacture of the unit and the choking hazard that this unit poses to children.
In my opinion, this unit should be recalled.
As part of my due diligence to the CPSC, I looked on the internet to see if there were other individuals that had the same issues as I had with the playpen. The lesson learned here, is that I should have looked on Amazon first to see if there were any poor reviews of the product. There are several poor reviews out there on Amazon and other places. Had I seen the poor reviews on this unit, I would have never purchased it in the first place.

Perfect for little ones
I bought this item from [...] and had it shipped to the store for pickup at no charge. It's super sturdy, easy to put together and expand with the extension. The inside footage was a lot bigger than I expected from the picture online. I added the extension anyway. Now there's so much space for her to play in (unlike her pak-n-play) she can almost get running. Also, because it's so durable it can be used outdoors and folds up in a snap for travel. It's great to bring to the park or beach. A place to build a sand castle in safety. Highly recommended.

Great gate, great price
We have two dogs that LOVE getting next to our 9 month old baby. They are very sweet but the hair and slobber on her toys is not so sweet. This gate fits in the living room nicely and is large enough to hold plenty of toys and even big enough for my 6'2" husband to comfortably play inside with her. Dogs can still get close and see her but no more dog slobber on her or her toys.
Folding and unfolding is a little awkward but since we leave it up all the time it's not a big deal for us. We love it!

Great for small dogs too!
This identical to some of the pet pens found in pet stores yet costs a lot less. It's a great size for our mini dachshund. There's plenty of room for a bed, food, water, and a 21"x21" puppy pad. If you do plan on using this for a pet and have hardwood or carpet, I'd suggest getting a sheet of cheap vinyl flooring from a hardware store and placing it under the pen. If you get 3' of the standard 12' wide role you can cut it in half and have 2, 3'x6' rectangles (cost me $15 at Lowes) - fits perfectly under the pen when shaped like a rectangle and protects your floor from water, pee, etc. I like to open and close one of the panels so I can leave the "door" open for the dog when I'm home. My only complaint is that it's really designed for that - it's not easy to do and it takes a few times to get the hang of it. I've also pinched my fingers a few times in the process.
