WatchesI bought these watches for my grand kids and loved them. A great gift idea for kids.
So far, so good!
I purchased this watch for my daughter's 11th birthday after she had borrowed one of my old Timex digital watches a couple of times. The only problem with the old watch was the buckle strap; it would not tighten up snugly on her wrist and irritated her. I searched for a model with a wrap-around band and was only slightly disappointed that the one I found here on Amazon (that was well-priced and in-stock) was blue and looked a little "boyish". I was not concerned about the quality since it is a Timex and for me, that says enough.
My daughter has been wearing the watch for almost a month now and just commented to me this morning how "cool" it is (she never mentioned the blue color or the lightning bolt). She uses the stopwatch and alarm features and had no problems learning to make adjustments to the settings, even without the instructions.
Highly recommend; a great 1st watch for a great price and apparently fairly androgynous. I was also delighted to see that Timex now replaces children's watches that are lost or broken for a flat fee of $10.
My 3 Year Old Loves This Watch!
Great watch...my three year old loves numbers and 'telling the time'! I am ordering another one because we lost the original one! Yikes!
Comfortable digital watch
My daughter received this watch for her 11th birthday and loves it. She has enjoyed learning all the functions, especially timing her brother and sister as they race. It's comfortable enough that she wears it all day long and even while she sleeps at night sometimes. Also, she likes that it's not foo-foo girly, but it also doesn't look like it's made just for boys.
great watch for youth,,pre teens,,age 7-12 I would say...................
my boys are age 9-11 they love the watches,,I got them in blue and my one son sleeps in it,,since Christmas so far,,he loves it,,he likes it in bed to push the light and see what time it is..and the comfort of it, and the time he can read easily,,so he is happy then I am happy,,

Good starter watchI purchased this as a replacement of the exact same watch for my 9 year old. It is a very good watch. My only suggestion is to have a sturdier crystal. My son manages to break the crystal on his first one when he fell with it on. The watch still ran, you just couldn't see it through the shattered crystal. I bought the replacement because it was cheaper than having the first one repaired.
Timex watch review
These watches were given as Christmas gifts, and were exactly as told they would be. My grandchildren loved them.
My son hasn't killed it yet!
My nine year old son has had--and quickly destroyed--several wrist watches in the past few years. Finally, for his last birthday, I thought it was time to get him a "real" watch. This Timex fit the bill.
My son is rough on his stuff, and I chose this watch for him because it has a mineral glass crystal instead of the more common acrylic plastic crystal. The glass is harder and more scratch resistant. The slightly oversized case looks bulky in the pictures, but it's much better proportioned when you see it in person, and it provides excellent protection to the crown.
The infinitely adjustable wrist strap is also a nice feature. The watch is easy to put on, and you can make the band as snug--or loose--as you'd like. My only longer-term concern is that the velcro may wear out faster than a traditional watch band. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it--it's held up very well for the past month, which has included an awful lot of "watch demonstrations."
My son loves his watch. It keeps excellent time, as all quartz watches should. It's durable, and it's fairly attractive in a rugged, chunky kind of way. I'm very pleased with it.
Bought for Grandson
Bought this watch for my 5 year old grandson and he loved it. He is just learning to tell time and needed a watch with numbers. Watch is easy to read and the velcro watchband is easy for him to put on his wrist by himself. The mineral watch face looks like it will withstand wear and tear of a 5 year old. Very satisfied.
Looks great, but consider it "disposable"
I am a long time Timex owner (no pun intended), and was eager to provide my 8 year old nephew with his first Timex, an Indiglo. I chose a cute kids model that Timex said was age appropriate and water resistant. It was way too big, it died after about 6 months. I figured it was just bad luck. I tried again, and bought him this model, which he loved, it fit him perfectly, and he took good care of it, wouldn't go near water with it, in spite of it's claim of being water resistant. It died after 3 months. I don't know what's happened to Timex quality, but clearly it's hard to make a cheap watch that actually works. Ironically, my Timex finally died after about 10 years, but that's at least better than 3 months. I love the idea of these watches, but if they break, they cost as much to send in to repair "under warranty" as they do to purchase, so consider them disposable. Or better yet, just don't buy these cheap ones. Hopefully the more expensive ones last longer.

Great watch to introduce concept of time and numbersMy little one just received this watch and will not take it off. Comfy and cute, with a great indiglo light, it has become one of her favorite things. While still too young to grasp the full concept of time, just by wearing it she is constantly practicing her numbers - the color corresponding watch hands and numbers make it easy for her to do so and to begin to learn about hours, minutes, and seconds.
so glad I bought this
Before I bought this watch, I was always arguing with my daughter that it was bedtime & she would never believe me. (She's 3.) Same "discussion" for lunch, dinner, bathtime, etc. She does well with the time timer, where she can see the literal amount of time she has until the next activity, so I realized she might need something to make the concept of time more real to her. So, I had the bright idea to buy her a watch and help her understand that when the little hand points to 8, it's bedtime. Or 12 for lunchtime, etc. And, guess what...it worked! No more arguing for me. the elastic is stretchy & comfortable for her. She can wear it all day & all night if I let her. It's durable & and a wonderful price for a first watch that's sure to get lost eventually. The watch has a little green hand that says "hour" and a big purple hand that says "minutes". This, of course, is useless to her since she can't read. It also divides up the face in minutes 0-30 and 30-60 to help children understand "x minutes after" or "x minutes to." But, as I said, we're not there yet. Still, she loves her watch. And now her 2 year old brother wants his own too. It has made my life easier so I am happy to oblige.
Great Watch For Kids. Could Use Larger Digits
This is a great watch to give as a child's first as it truly does help tell the time. The only issues I had with this is that the face and therefore digits could be a bit bigger to make it easier to read. Overall great watch and fantastic purchase from Amazon.
time teacher by Timex
The Timex Time Teacher has been an excellent reinforcement for learning to tell time. Each second is labeled and has a second hand. The stretch material is perfect for a smaller-than-average wrist. We are very pleased.
never received it
I ordered 4 items at the same time, it suppose come in 3 package, I did not received this one.

it lasted six weeks :/We were excited to introduce our son to the world of time-independence and when his new Timex Kids' T78141 Camouflage Stretch Band Watch arrived, we were all very excited.
However, within days of him wearing it the fabric strap started to deteriorate. The face showed even the slightest of scuffs and within a couple of weeks the watch looked years old.
Its water resistance rating didn't hold up, as after six weeks it stopped working all together.
Even if it had have kept working, the strap would have faded away within six months and the 'soft' watch face would have scratched beyond recognition, rendering reading the time near impossible.
We're now looking at Adidas and Swatch to replace it.
My Kid Loves It!
My boy of 7 really got into military toys, I being a former Marine. He loves this watch. It's the only watch he actually looks for when its not on his wrist. The helicopter second hand is really cool and none of the kids at school had a watch like this one. He's had it for a year now and its still going strong. We like the band because when it gets wet it dries easily. Great product, I recommend strongly.
cute but leaky
In the words of my 6 year old, "I think you said it was waterproof but it wasn't. The light is not working because water got in it and made it so the dial (helicopter-second hand, and the other hands) would not work. This started after about one month after I got it for my birthday. The wrist band was great! The same thing happened to my sisters watch -the flowered one."
Perfect gift
I bought this watch for my friend's son who was turning six. He was really excited to see the camo colors and the little helicopter inside the face. His mom called me a few days later to say that it was his favorite birthday present and that he wears it every day. Amazon was great too -- I ordered and received the watch in just a couple of days!
Timex Kid's Watch

This Watch is rated a 10!What's not to love about this watch? It's very affordable and really cute too. And the best part is, it is a time teacher watch. My 5 year old son has learned to tell time from this watch the old fashioned way (no digital). Gotta love that. You have the Timex brand behind it too. Even if it gets lost or broken, you haven't spent a small fortune. I purchased a second one just in case.... Two thumbs up!
Ben's watch
Ideal for a child who needs to learn how to tell time.
The different colors for the hours, minutes and seconds eases the teaching process.
Glad I bought it.
Durability - 0!
My 5 year old was very excited about receiving this watch as a birthday gift, and equally distraught when it failed within 30 days. The crystal scratches easily. The watch is supposed to be waterproof to 99 feet and the case was never opened; but the crystal was full of moisture bubbles after he swam with it on (and he was at the surface at all times - not nearly 99 feet). Needless to say the thing stopped working shortly thereafter.
Grandson Thrilled
Purchased for my 5 year old grandson.....he starts school this week and has not taken the watch off since we gave it to him. He really thinks he is a Big Boy now. He continues to learn about time on a daily basis. Plan on getting him another one for Christmas......maybe the camo?? If you want to be the FAVORITE Granpa....buy this!
Best first watch ever!
We gave this to our five year old son last christmas and it became an instant favorite. He wears it every day and is so proud of it. Great value and quality.

Movies may influence Mexican American teens' smoking habits
Movies can favour our lives -- how we dress, where we live and perhaps whether we smoke. A new study finds that the more Mexican American teens keep one's eyes peeled movie scenes that include smoking, the more likely they may be to light up.
Researchers surveyed 1,286 Mexican American adolescents -- some born in Mexico, some in the U.S. -- to find out how many smoking scenes they had watched and what were their smoking habits. They discovered a connector between experimenting with cigarettes and the films: Numbers of new experimenters ranged from 5% among those who had no or little exposure to movies to 30% for teens who had viewed up to 600 scenes of smoking.
Where the teens were born factored into the results. For those born in Mexico, smoking scenes were the biggest forecaster for experimentation. For those born in the U.S., experimenters increased with the amount of unmasking, but leveled off.
There were other correlations: Those with risk-taking tendencies and higher anxiety levels reported more exposure to flick picture show smoking than low risk-takers and those with lower anxiety levels. Also, the more smokers in the house, the more exposure to movie smoking scenes.
