Runs true to size, not large...
Do not believe the reviews which say that this boot runs large - they are full of it. This boot is narrower than most other EMU styles in the calf/ankle area, as well as the foot area. I normally wear a size 5 1/2 to a 6 narrow, so I ordered these in a 5 because numerous reviewers said "it's so big." Ha! I got the boot on, but my toes were just smashed and the boot felt very uncomfortable. It felt like a size 7 would have been a better fit. The boot itself is lined in wool and it felt warm, but obviously not a high-quality sheepskin - for the sale price of $25, it's kind of hard to complain.

Comfortable and healed my foot pain!
I wear a 7 1/2 and purchased a size 7 of the EMU Bronte Lo. The fit is just right. This is of course a very comfortable pair of footwear as so many reviews have stated. I would also like to add that these shoes seem to do my aching a feet a world of good. After a strenuous 2-week holiday where I did a LOT of walking and hiking, I returned home with feet that just ached intermittently for days. I got these boots to wear around the house for the cold months, but I resorted to wearing these after near constant pain for a couple of weeks. Lo and behold, the pain went down several notches after just a day. I did not initially attribute this phenomenon to the Bronte boots, but after a month now of wearing the Bronte boots as soon as a twinge of the pain returned (and the pain going away soon after), I am convinced the boots are doing the trick. I was all set to go to a foot doctor (and maybe I still will just to make sure nothing is wrong), but for now, the Bronte boots are keeping my feet happy.

these boots are excellent! in my search for a pair of boots like these, i tried on several different brands and read a plethora of reviews. these boots had excellent reviews and the price was right. i purchased the black bronte lo boot through amazon and absolutely love the fit, the comfort, and the style. i highly recommend EMU!!! i am a size 8.5 and bought an 8 (a tip i got reading customer reviews), and they are a cozy fit. if i purchase another pair in the future, i'll definetely purchase EMU!

Great price for a tall, slide-on boot
I'm glad to find tall, slide-on, ugg style boots for $30. Can't beat the price, so that was my motivation for choosing this style (ribbon wrap) over the more dependable styles.

Pros - Great price. Versatile in terms of how tight or loose, how warm or ventilated it is. It is great for California because as the day heats up you can loosen the boot to allow your feet to ventilate, and then as the day cools off you simply tighten them up.

Comfortable sole, warm, very cute with short skirts.

Cons - Almost too versatile. The ribbons slip and slide all the time, so you have to find a system that works for you. A bow-tie does not hold - a knot is definitely needed. I think a few well placed stitches will help with that. Plus I intend to add a little loop at the top of the boot so that when you want the boot tight you can secure the ribbon to the loop.

The fir on the inside is synthetic and not perfect for my purposes. One of the reasons I bought tall boots is to protect my bug-bit legs from more bites, etc. Actual sheepskin is soft and gentle on bites, synthetic is slightly itchy - not to regular skin, but to bug-bites. No worries, band-aids work, but I thought it would be good to let potential buyers know.

Note: The color of the boot in the picture looks like a 'sand' color, but is in fact more of a 'dark tan' color.

Last note - I wear a 6.5 US. I ordered the size 5 based on the recommendations of other reviewers, and I am glad I did. The reason for the size confusion seems to be a slight misunderstanding about US Men's to Women's shoe size conversion. The box said US women's 5 - which is wrong. But it also says men's 4 - which I feel is accurate, because a men's 4 is about a women's 6-6.5. Just thought I would help clear up the confusion.

Over-all, I'm glad I made this purchase, but if I had another $50 to have spent on these boots, I would have chosen another boot because of the above mentioned reasons.

LOVE them :)
Love these EMU's!! I never bought UGG's thinking they were too sloppy and manly. May as well wear a pair sweatpants with them and call it a day. My husband has been insisting I get a pair, tho. SO when I found these, that have a pretty little ribbon and bow along the side and in the Sand color....I was sold! "OK, I'll try them." Boy am I glad I did! These are super cute and feminine! YAY!! :D Not to mention super soft and cushy inside. Will be really warm in the winter.

cute boots but hard to manage
very stylish, comfortable, and great for anyone with wider calves...the only problem i had with them was keeping them tied..because of the way the ribbons were attached, its very hard to tie them properly and get them the stay up.

Oh, Wow... I Love These Boots!
I Had hesitated to buy high leather boots, because I have fairly thick calves. I had also read so many review of other brands, that I was leery as to whether these would run large/small, but after I read the reviews for this brand and model, I took the advice which said that they are sized for men. I was glad, as they were on sale, and did not have my women's size available. I converted my size into the men's equivalent: I wear a 9 to 9½, and ordered an 8 in this boot. It was perfect!!! AND- they fit my calves just fine.

I have had no problems with the ties falling down. I just make sure that I have the boot's sides snugly pulled together as I wrap the ties snugly, make a good, secure bow, and they seem fine. They stayed up through an 8-hr shopping trip!

Get these boots, and you will glad you did.

Love the EMU
I bought my Emus after reading all of the reviews. They were right on the money. I bought 1/2 size smaller (perfect). They run wide, but that leaves more toe wiggle room, which works for me. I bought them to use as slippers. The floors in our house are very cold and both my feet and ankles get cold even with pants on. Now my feet (barefoot in my EMUS)are toasty warm and I was able to turn the thermostat back 2 degrees! The Emus will pay for themselves! They also have some arch support, which I need, and could not find in slippers. I have a pair of Uggs, but I will buy emus from now on. They are well made, comfy, warm and wonderful!!!

More Comfortable Than I'd Imagined
These boots are great! I was contemplating on buying either EMUS or a pair of Uggs. I know many people who own several pairs of Uggs but the economy pushed me in the direction of EMUS. The EMU Bronte Hi Boot is very comfortable, warm, and actually runs a size bigger. I'm really satisfied with my purchase.

Oh so soft!
Decided to risk ordering the largest size manufactured by EMU as well as UGG (as far as I have found) even though I wear size 11. The footbed is wide enough to accommodate but just a wee bit shorter than desired. I knew it would be so. But I have decided to reserve them for indoor wear this winter as "house slippers" At this price, wouldn't you?

Wife Loves Them
I bought these for my wife after hearing raves about the quality of Emu boots. Not only did my wife love these boots, but she wore them for most of the North Illinois winter. My wife usually complains of numb toes after walking around outside for longer than a half hour, but she was so cozy in these boots that she opted to go sans socks frequently.

I had to send the first pair back
I don't really know how I'll like these boots, the first pair that I recieved had to be sent back, the left boot slumped, plus they fit like they were 2 sizes to big. This pair seems to be better, but time will tell. I must say that amazon has been great, they are really willing to help in every way that they can.

I've done the research!
This review might be a little long, but it may help you in your search for sheepskin boots.
I ordered Bearpaws last year with the lug sole. Great boots, and if you plan on wearing them in the winter, the lug sole is a huge plus. The lining was merino wool, not the pricer shearling, but still very warm. Bearpaws do run true to size, maybe a little smaller than UGG and EMU, plus they are a 1/3 of the cost. I went to Macys to try on the EMU boots and couldnt decide between the Bronte and Stinger version. Saleslady was very helpful, stating the higher priced Stinger had the better shearling lining and better overall construction. Seeing them side by side you could tell the difference.
I ordered a pair of EMU Hi premium Stingers from Amazons partner Warehouse Deals and was very pleased. They are definately bigger in size then my Bearpaws but the added removable insert was a nice suprise. They do have an arch support that I wasnt expecting. One thing I dont like about the EMU and Ugg boots is the cloth braid where the suede meets the sole. I always waterproof my boots but don't like the fabric on the boot. I wear them outside in the winter and dont know how well it will hold up, even with waterproofing. My Bearpaws with the lug sole are bonded to the suede with rubber which makes them a better choice for winter/slush/snow. I did a TON of research on the different linings between UGG/EMU/BEARPAWS. The merino wool which is the cheapest, is still very nice, just a little nappier than the shearling. The shearling that lines the EMU Stingers is definately top of the line. It is one solid peice, and is very soft on bare feet! I normally wear a size 9. The bearpaws fit perfectly in that size, but my size 9 EMU are a little roomier. Wish I had gotten an 8 instead, but the 9 still fits fine. The Stinger has a nice sole, but I think I will order the EMU Outback version that has the lug sole next since I wear them all winter and need the traction. Overall, for cost, the Bearpaws are just as nice as the EMU and UGG boot. The suede upper is a little stiffer than the UGG and EMU, but I dont mind that. EMU's are closer to UGG is style but cost more than BEARPAW. UGG is still the better known brand, but in my opinion, not worth the extra money unless you want the brand name. If you plan on wearing without socks, go for the shearling lining, its super soft! If you normally wear socks, the merino wool is just as warm. As for me, I think I'll be getting another pair of Bearpaws since you can't beat the cost and they do also have the wonderful shearling lining.

Flat
After wearing these for a week the "wool" inside was no longer soft and felt hard with no support. The heel also wore out within two months. Also, if one drop of water gets on the boots then it will leave a permanent stain which looks like mud on the chestnut color. If you wear these on a rainy day then they are pretty much done for. Poor quality overall.

Super Love them!!
Never had a pair of uggs n dont think i ever will by far the most comfortable shoes i have ever had!! got a smaller size fit perfect! my feet can tend to sweat but i was amazed they dont hold any moisture at all not even when its hot im definetly buying another pair!!! i'ved even fallen asleep in them funny but true

Favorite Boots EVER
I ordered these for Christmas and wear them whenever the temperature dips below 50. I absolutely love them! They're super comfy and soft and have nice support. They're much nicer than the Brontes and definitely worth the extra money. Bronte fluff flattens quickly, but these are still soft and warm. The real sheepskin does make a difference. I definitely definitely recommend these boots!

Buy carefully from Gotham City!
First, let me say that I LOVE my EMU boots! I came to Amazon to look for another pair that I couldn't find locally. When I found these here, and on sale, I was delighted. However, what seems to be too good to be true, often is ... When my boots arrived, they were not the boots I had ordered; they were EMU Stinger Hi boots in a Stinger Lo box (I read another review stating something similar). When I tried contacting the company directly by leaving voicemails, I received no response -- despite the outgoing message stating that I would get a timely response. If you are able to call or do online chat during the day, I have found that is the only time to get someone.# A few days later, after calling repeatedly, I finally spoke with a customer rep who then told me that they ALWAYS return phone messages. I returned the boots. And my original feedback was removed. Hmmm... I wonder why? But, I'm glad to say that I was able to purchase the EMU boots I wanted on sale through a different online company without any of the hassles trying to deal with Gotham.

Helpful EMU hints: One difference between the new black EMUs (and my brown) is that they have have caused some discoloration inside during wearing (due to the dying process) so my toes and soles need washing after wearing! But this has lessened over time. For new EMU and UGG users, be SURE to treat your boots with special UGG waterproofing spray (per the directions) before wearing. It's fairly inexpensive and will help keep them cleaner and water repellent. I personally buy half a size down and they fit snugly when I first get them, but after wearing a few weeks, they begin to loosen up so that if I'd purchased bigger, they would then be too big. (The sheepskin interior flattens and they stretch out a bit.) It also depends on whether you intend to wear them with/without socks.

Good quality
I just got these uggs today, one for me and another for my 9 yrs old son for the next winter season. I find the quality is good since i had several other uggs from other companies.I have not wearing it out yet cuz the weather is too warm for it for the past few days, so i can not tell if it will stretch. as for now it fits perfectly as the same as my size8. So no need to buy size up or down.
