Some things to consider...
I would think the best measure of a car seat would be how it performs in a crash. Fortunately for me (and unfortunately for this review) I can't speak to that... but I can tell you about some of the less dramatic features of this car seat. Disclaimer... this isn't EXACTLY the model we have (we do have a Chicco keyfit 30 but it is an earlier year/color combo) so they may have addressed these issues but I would take a long look at these features before purchasing.

1) The sun visor. On the other car seat we've used the visor could be positioned however you needed it to be. On this car seat it is connected to the top of the seat and does NOT work in any other position. What does that mean? Well, in our case it means if you are driving with the child in the back of your car and they are facing the rear (like they are supposed to) and the sun is behind you, the sun is directly in their eyes and the visor on this seat cannot be repositioned to help you in any way. This happens to me EVERY DAY as I drive to and from daycare. I've attached a blanket with some duct tape to keep the sun out of my child's eyes, but really... should that be necessary?

2) The head rest attaches through the top two holes on for the seat belts. What does that mean? Well, once your child reaches a certain size the head rest has to come out for the belts to be correctly positioned making their ride less comfortable.

He seems comfortable enough in there and everything so this isn't a BAD seat... but certainly nothing I would recommend buying. Bottom line is from my point of view this is NOT the seat to buy.

Love it!
I've been using this travel system with the Keyfit 30 car seat for 4 months and I love it. The car seat is easy to get in and out of the car and easily snaps into the stroller. The stroller us easy to fold/unfold and navigates well. It also has ample storage. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Excellent in the Important Ways
2 months along I'm pretty happy this was the biggest splurge in our baby purchases, and that we rearranged our budget for it (pricey car seat, secondhand baby clothes) rather than buying a cheaper car seat. Considering how long we'll use it, and that it's so highly rated for safety and ease of use, it made more sense than spending a lot elsewhere.

The pros:
-- Highly Rated by Consumer Reports
-- Very easy, even for this car seat newbie
-- LOVE the newborn insert for babies under 10 lbs, since most aftermarket car seat additions for floppy newborns compromise the safety of the seat.
-- The Adventure fabric is indeed more breathable than some others
-- It rocks smoothly! It's easier to put baby to sleep by rocking his car seat on the floor, than in the swing and so on.
-- Little One seems very comfortable in it. It's a preferred napping spot out of the car (just be very aware of the danger of loose straps if you do this; I keep him buckled, or fold the straps underneath, add a blanket, and then put him in the seat.
-- We've had no problems with his head flopping around (from the size of 8.5 lbs, 21")
-- Pops into the base easily, making it simpler to mount it in the middle rear seat

The cons:
-- He does get a little bit sweaty in the seat (even though we ordered Adventure, which Chicco's customer service had said is a more breathable fabric). We combat this with a burp rag flat behind his back for one thin layer of wicking, and with a cloth (cotton) diaper with a wool cover (no synthetics). I can't imagine how uncomfortable he'd be in disposable diapers in it.
-- The canopy does not pull up or down well
-- It's immensely annoying to have to push buttons on both sides of the handle, to move the handle
-- No slot to set it on a grocery cart. True that's not the safest spot for the car seat but it'd be nice to let parents choose. Sometimes I want to set him there for just a minute, when the cart is not moving and nobody is moving near it (like in the checkout line).
-- The additional safety features do make it heavy
-- The base is frequently out of stock so take care to get the spare well before you need it

Amazing quality
We bought this car seat three years ago and have used it with two babies now and it's of such amazing quality that we'll use it with our third baby. It honestly still looks as new. It installs easily, looks great, can be cleaned easily and most of all is sturdy and of good quality. Both my daughters loved to fall asleep in it. One of the best purchases we've made!

Great!
Used it for nearly six months. Baby is very comfortable in it.
Solid construction. Fittings, snaps, handles all secure and reliable and not worn at all after daily use. Easy to adjust the straps.
My advice- most of the seats look similar. They are all plush and colorful. But compare the BASES. The best seat is of no value if the base it attaches to is light and flimsy and likely to fail in the stress of an accident. Go into any store and look at the various replacement bases for the different brands of carseats for sale. You will see right away that the Chicco base is FAR stronger and more substantial and well-built. It gives me confidence that the seat will not pull away from the car attachment in an accident (God forbid)
I would recommend the Chicco KeyFit to a family member or friend without hesitation.

Very Pleased
After MUCH research, my husband and I purchased the Cortina KeyFit 30 Travel System in "Adventure" and I am so glad we did. My daughter is now 9 months old, so I feel like I can write a review and be honest.

CARSEAT BASE
* LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the base!!! It was so easy to install and I feel like it is done properly since it has a bubble level build in. Adjusting it is a piece of cake. Getting the car seat latched in and out was so much easier than my previous Evenflo. The only complaint is that you need two hands to get the carseat out of the base, which involves some juggling at times.

CARSEAT
* In side by side comparison, I cannot see the size or feel the weight difference between the KeyFit and KeyFit 30, so I would go with the 30.
* The best feature by far is the between-the-legs strap tightening strap. This used to be standard on Graco's (7 years ago), but now is only on their super pricy models. (I have to say, this was the main reason I didn't buy from them!!) I don't know how I would live without it!!!
* When my daughter was little, I really appreciated the newborn support.
* The straps can be removed for cleaning much more easily than any other carseat I've owned, which is a huge plus.
* Sun cover is not great, but there is a hidden flip out rain/sun cover that I am not sure everyone knows is there.
* I would be completely in love with the car seat, but the fabric has started 'piling', when my daughter was about 5-6 months old, which I found rediculous, since we had only used it a dozen time prior to her 3rd month.
* I know there have been complaints about the 'shiny' Chico fabrics holding too much heat and making their baby sweat too much, and this one is NOT one that does that.


STROLLER
* Folding up and down is incredibly easy. (one handed).
* Love that when folded, it stores standing up You don't have to lay it on the ground.
* I don't think it is too heavy. All of these big strollers are somewhat heavy, but it is not a problem for me at all.
* I heard a lot of people complaining about not being able to access the storage bin when the carseat is in it. I found that if I just left the stroller seat up a tiny bit (rather than completely flat), I had room and it didn't compromise the 'lock' of the carseat and stroller.
* My daughter INSISTED on facing forward, even as an infant. If you are OK with the carseat not being locked into the stroller, you can face it forward and even leave stroller seat up for complete access to the bottom. It still fits in snuggly, just doesn't lock, so if it toppled over, it would fall out or if you were going fast and stopped suddenly, your infact could fall forward. I only did this when the tipping risk was low (like at the mall), and ALWAYS left her strapped in when I did it.
* At 9 months, the regular stroller straps still seem big for my average sized daughter.
* A friend of mine has one and her folding handle broke...it still folds down, but to unfold, you have to click a latch at the side.

Smooth Ride, Easy Carseat Installation
I am extremely pleased with the KeyFit 30 Travel System. The carseat was very easy to install - the built-in levels on the base and height adjustment feature help ensure the proper installation. The stroller has a smooth ride, and the weight is well-balanced when the baby is in the stroller, so that going up and down curbs is not difficult and does not jostle the baby. The stroller turns tight corners well, and is silent when in motion.

No plastic cover
I love this stroller.
Unfortunately, I can't give it 5 stars because they don't make a wind/rain plastic cover that fits that stroller.
I had to buy one that goes to a different stroller and it does not fit well.
The wind keeps lifting it off.
I wish they made one compatible with this stroller.

A nice set for first time parents
This stroller is very easy to use, and easily put together. The Stroller does take up a lot of storage room in the trunk, but is well worth it. The adjustable handle is an excellent feature and the key and cup holder really come in handy. The seat has adjustable shoulder straps and do not have to be used with the belt lap when your child is older. The locking/brake system on this stroller is very advanced and makes pushing this stroller a nice experience. I do agree that when the stroller seat is reclined, it leaves little room for baggage underneith.

The car seat is nice and the material is easy to clean, however it does make for a sweaty baby in the summer. It is light weight and locks into the base easily. Also the base as a little storage compartment under it. The built in level makes it easy to balance and the variety of straps makes it convienant for all vehical models. Over all we are very satisfied.

Essential add on for the UppaBaby Vista
We purchased this carseat adapter for our new Uppababy Vista stroller. It allows us to use our Chicco Keyfit 30 with the stroller for a secure snap-in fit. It is shockingly hard to find stroller frames that accomodate carseats that are not of the same brand, and when you do, some use flimsy straps and other things that I dont feel are secure at all. With this one you hear that "click", knowing your baby is securely locked in. Grab the orange flap on the back of the carseat to release. Easy.

To take off the adapter you simply press both buttons and it comes right off. It is lightweight and sturdy. The adapter appears to be white in the picture, but it is indeed matte black and matches perfectly with the Uppababy Stroller.

works as advertised
We bought this product and returned the snap and go stroller(s) that were on our registry. This adapter works very well, and it allows the chicco car seat to lock into place, unlike the snap and go stroller that doesn't actually allow a chicco seat to lock. We have been using it for a month and are very happy, no complaints.

Love it and can't be without it!
So glad we got this adapter for our UppaBaby stroller! It's an absolute necessity and I couldn't imagine not having it. It makes life so much easier being able to take the baby car seat out of the car and just click it on to the stroller. It makes everything so compact compared to the other travel systems out there i.e. Graco, etc.

When the car seat adapter is connected, you will have plenty of room to get to the under carriage basket. The car seat is also at a great raised height so baby is nice and close to you. We are using the Chicco KeyFit 30 car seat.

Nice thing as well is that the stroller will fold with no problems while the adapter is attached. The adapter is easily attached and detached from the stroller for times when you want to put on the other Uppababy parts like the bassinet or seat.
