Fun booksEasy way to teach your kids the colors, shapes, 1st words and numbers 1-10. Just wish the color book had orange in it.
First library - Eric Carle
What a great product - durable books with classic Eric Carle animation. Perfect for my toddler / student. The format of the books was unexpected - top half of the books flip and turn separately from the bottom half of the books. At first, I thought this would create confusion. Instead, it created interest and fascination.

Excellent learning tool, great illustrations
I bought this as a gift for my son, and I love the colors and the concept. The books require the child or reader to identify shapes, numbers, colors, and first words that match one another. Each book is a board book (there are four total), and when opened is split in half, top from bottom. For example, there is the color blue with the word blue on the top part of the book, and you have to flip the bottom part of the book to find the picture that has a blue object. It is easy to figure out and has directions. The colors are vibrant with lovely looking brush strokes. The set is definitely for beginning readers who are learning their colors and numbers. Do not expect a story line with these books. That is not their purpose.
Not the best from Eric Carle
I was very disappointed when i recieved the book set. It is not your typical Eric carle Book, Each page has a picture and the word but above you have to flip through the whole book to find the matching word. It's kind of hard to explain. Stick with Brown Bear Brown bear and the other classic Eric Carle books, this one really sucks.

Pro: Talks about animals; Con: Lame flapsIt goes through all the farm animals: the sounds they make and what they do. My 4-year old knew all this but my 2-year old benefitted. The flaps may as well have been pages since they're almost the same size as the page and open in the same direction. I think flap books should be more interesting. Overall, it's a cute basic book.
The Very Busy Spider
My daughter is an early elementary education student at UWP. This book is part of her children's library that will eventually be in her classroom. Eric Carle writes terrific children's books.
The flaps open the wrong way!
We have One Yellow Lion where the flaps open the opposite direction of the way you'd turn a page, and I thought this would be similar. But, the flaps open just as if you're turning a page. Granted, my son loves turning pages, so for him, this book is perfect. It was just different than what I expected. I'd recommend this book only to kids who can't sit still for more than a few seconds without wanting to turn the page of the book, as they get to turn twice as many in this so-called lift the flap book!
It's not a lift the flap book.
I purchased this book because I had read the hard cover and thought a lift the flap version would be interesting. I still really like the story but this is a very poor rendition of a lift the flap format.
Skip it!
My toddler loves the board book version of this book so I thought this book would be fun for her. The flaps are awkward and frustrating for a 16 month old. The flaps are so large it's just like turning regular pages, so why have the flaps?

Eric Carle Rocks!I consider all of Eric Carle's books as "must haves" for young readers. Here's one of his classics that has stood the test of time and is most engagingly written and has colorful pages.

My children love reading this book over and over again. They laugh at the chameleon when he is mixed up and tries to catch the fly. They imitate the same move.
Good Book
I really like Eric Carle books. The kids really enjoy them and that is the most important thing. They did a good job in making it into a paperback also, it is pretty durable.
It's a cute book!
My 4 years old son was expecting have some funny experience with this book, but.. it was more of that... My son is really happy with this wonderfull book... The animation, of course, the best that I've even seen in my life. My children at the school /I'm a teacher in a preschool, were really quiet and surprised looking the pictures.. I recommended this book inclusive to the parents... Its woonderfull!!!
The Mixed-Up Chameleon Board Book
Eric Carle writes excellent childrens books. They are always very colorful and entertaining. The board books are very sturdy for smaller childern who either chew on everything and small hands which make turning paper books hard.

5 months old son loves the flashing lights @ the endcute book....he'll probably appreciate it more when he gets a little older....colors aren't as bright...still recommend book for older kiddo! :)

A frequent bedtime request by our toddlers who enjoy the story and the lights at the end.
Cool book!
This book is very cool. The hardcover has lights in the back that blink! The Very Lonely Firefly is a wounderful book for people under the age of 13 but it may be a cool book for all ages too! It depends on if you like Eric Carle and you like fireflys!
Great book!
I bought this book for my 20 month old son. He and his 3-year-old sister love it! They can't wait to get to the end to see the firelies it up. It's a great book. Highly recommended.
The Very Lonely Firefly
This book is great for bedtime storytime. I read it to my grandson while he is in bed and just before the last page we turn out the lights and the finalle--last page he can see in the dark. He knows the words before I turn the pages. (This is the second book for us - the first one the batteries went dead and it was actually cheaper to buy a new book than to replace the batteries).

Book review Eric Carle's OppositesThis book is great for preschool and 1st graders. As with all Eric Carle books it is also excellent for Autistic children.It is a little short but my preschooler likes it. The Very Hungry Caterpillar and the Mixedup Chameleon are great for 1st graders.
Eric Carle's Opposites book
Anything by Eric Carle is PERFECT for introducing children to reading. I have six grandsons (all age 3 & under) and they all LOVE the Eric Carle books! GREAT PRODUCT - GREAT PRICE - RECEIVED QUICKLY.

I love using this book to teach opposites. With the flipping pages, the kids love to guess the opposite and then you can reveal it. So fun for preschool!

Love it!
My infant son LOVES this book. He loves the bright pictures and lifting the flaps to view what's underneath. We've read it with him since he was just a couple of months old to start learning colors, opposites, and the joy of reading.
