pleasedI am 100% pleased with the order. it got to me sooner that predicted and i was very happy about that.
Poignant and Funny! A good read that boys will enjoy
Middle School. I don't know of anyone who remembers that time of their life as being fabulous. It's so filled with change and coming to grips with the larger reality of looming adulthood, and the prospect of dealing with members of the opposite gender on 'new terms', and harder schoolwork, that it fairly dims in light of the fun of elementary school and high school. And perhaps that's why this book about an average boy trying to find his place resonates with kids.
It was certainly popular with my children. Both of them brought it home as soon as they were able to read it themselves. The Word-of-Mouth of their peers having brought it to their attention.
Myself, I didn't start reading the series until just recently when my 8 year-old son brought it home. He had already read it once and then we read it again together. The fact that he read it twice should tell you something: THIS isn't just another kid book.
I was surprised at how funny the book was. There were times when I just cracked up and at least one time where I had to stop reading until I could pull myself together.
THE SKINNY:::
"Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is written in clear, easy to understand language at the 5.2 (early Fifth Grade) Accelerated Reading level. Jeff Kinney is an observant and funny writer and the cartoon drawings add to the fun.
The appeal of this book is from about 2nd Grade through 7th--although I thought it was great too.
I want to HIGHLY recommend this series to parents of Boys and 'Reluctant Readers'. My observations --confirmed by teachers and librarians-- is that these books really appeal to kids. The drawings serving to break up the text into easily digestible units.
Five Stars. " The Diary of a Wimpy Kid" is a book that grabs kids and brings them to the altar of literature

Funny. Funny, funny, funny.
Like all of the Wimpy Kid movies, this one is very funny, with interesting comic book artwork. the story follows the life of middle-schooler Greg Heffley through his diary and his simple illustrations. Funny tales of school and classmates (including some very strange ones, bullies, girls, etc). There's the Cheese Touch, which is like the cooties but it's acquired when someone touches a piece of cheese that has become part of the schoolyard pavement. Tricks that Greg's older brother Rodrick plays on him. Funny tales of Rowley (great knock knock jokes), playing video games, and of course the introduction of classic "weird kid" Fregley ("Wanna see my 'secret freckle'?") who howls "juice! juice!" when he needs to pee. Greg also has a sleepover with Fregley, who's also his wrestling partner. We need more Fregley. There's Rodrick's band Loded Diper, Greg running for class treasurer, Hallowe'en tales, wrestling class, weightlifting, the class play, Safety Patrol, and Greg's comic competition. Some of the "bad" comics that Greg was competing with were actually pretty good (check out Rowley's "Zoo-wee Mama". The book's not all fun - there's also a grim tale of giant snowmen that is a bit tough. But at least it ends well, when we find out what happens to the cheese.
Review From Books & Wine
OMG, if you have not read Diary of A Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney, and have an hour to spare, I suggest you pick up this book. The main character is Greg, he's the middle child with two brothers, and one best friend whom he doesn't seem to like all that much. He's funny, he likes the ladies, he wants to be popular. Sound like your typical middle schooler!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid contains simple drawings, the art is not perfect. However, it is a fast read and a silly romp recommended for a stressful day. It is not the book for someone who wants a deep meaningful read. I guess some people may dislike this book because Greg isn't a role model. In fact, he's self-serving, lazy, and kind of a jerk. Personally, I think he is the typical middle schooler. Aside from all of those terrible qualities, he's actually quite funny.
My favorite part of the book was the cheese touch, where this one kid touches a piece of months old moldy cheese, and then has the cheese touch so people try to avoid him so they don't get cheese touch either.
Were you a wimpy kid in middle school?
An every-guy, Greg Heffley, is trying to survive his first year in middle school as told in diary format. Or as Greg would immediately correct, 'This is a JOURNAL, not a diary.' Join Greg and his friend Rowley as they both try to make sense of this new frontier of teenagerdom.
This story, composed in both words and cartoons, is as beautiful as it is simple. Instead of chapters there are days of the week that subdivide the action which never lingers. It's a quick read full of experiences that anyone who's attended middle school in the last fifty can relate to. Oh yeah, it's also laugh-out-loud funny!

GreatTook full amount of time given to recieve order, however it arrived in perfect condition, great price would recomend this seller!
A favorite book series!
I just want to say that my 9 yr old despises reading, we couldn't get him to enjoy it for anything. We tried many different books and a variety of topics, no luck. One day at his school library, he brought home "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" and before we knew it he was reading the book every chance he had and we didn't have to nag him to do so, EUREKA!! His teachers advised that the book was too advanced for his level, but he would sit down and read to me every night without me suggesting it. He sounded out words and questioned the meaning of certain vocabulary he didn't recognize. He explained that he enjoyed the book because he could relate to Greg, the main character in the book and he said is was funny, always making him laugh because of Greg's sense of humor (much like my son's, might I add). Soon after I found all the books, right here on Amazon for very inexpensive and I knew it was money well spent. My son loves the books and best of all, ENJOYS reading now, it has helped his spelling and reading scores, he has finished every book 3x over and loves the "Do it Yourself" book that is a fun-ish journal type book they can fill in on their own. I would recommend this for ages 9 and up, my 12 yr old nephew also has the books and loves them as well! Just hope that the author continues to write the books as fast as kiddos can read them!
My son loves this series!
My 9 year old son loves to read but he isn't to hip on reading fiction focusing instead on factual reading, however he loves this series! He has read each book multiple times and I think that is because he really relates to the main character. He loves to draw comparisions about what he read to his real life situations and share them with me. I am grateful to have found a fiction series he can enjoy!

The most requested books in the library
As a school librarian, I serve a young population of 5- to 8-year-olds. If I had a dime for every time I am asked (daily!), "Do you have any of those Wimpy Kid books?", I'd be rich. The "Wimpy Kid" books are, by far, the most requested books in our library! I have multiple copies of each, and there is a waiting list for all of them, several kids deep. At first I thought they wanted them because their older siblings were reading them, and they just sometimes like the feel of a big fat chapter book (not that these are that big or fat), but then after they would tell me about their favorite parts, I knew they were reading them themselves. Kudos to Jeff Kinney--how rare to write a book that appeals just as much to a middle-schooler as it does to a YOUNG elementary-age child (and whose content is not too sophisticated or inappropriate for the younger set)!

Diary of a wimpy kid dog daysI really liked Dog Days. I thought it was really funny. I can't wait for the next Diary Of A Wimpy kid. The book is filled with comedy and detail. The characters are amazing. The story is spectacular because of the dialouge. There are entartaning scenes in the book that is why the book shines.
GREAT GIFT FOR MY 9 YEAR OLD GRANDAUGHTER
I ORDERED ALL THE WHIMPY KIDS BOOKS FOR MY 9 YEAR OLD GRANDAUGHTER AND SHE JUST LOVED THEM. THEY ARRIVED EARLIER THAN I EXPECTED AND WERE IN PERFECT CONDITION.
"Wimpy Kid" Series is Fantastic
My son cannot put these "Wimpy Kid" books down. He's hooked on every one of them. They're great funny reads each and everyone of them.
Part 4 is out!
Greg gets a dog. He also has to pay $83 dollars for ordering smoothies without asking. He watches a horror movie and gets so scared he can't even stand to be in his own room.
My favorite part is when the dog flirts with Greg's mom. The writer wants the readers to know the consequences of using money without asking then you need to save up $83 dollars working over summer break. The book is good because it's comedy. Yes, some parts were better than others. Kids, teens and adults who like The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series and people who likes comedy, I recommend you guys read this book. -- Grace
Best book you will ever read.
It's a book about a kid who gets bullied a lot. Also, he tries things with his friend that are funny. My favorite part is when they did something dangerous and they get hurt, but it was funny.
This book is good because it has a lot of funny parts. The parts toward the end are more funny.
I recommend kids between 8-12 should read this because they know what the jokes mean. Kids younger would not get the joke and people older would not think it's funny. -- Elias

Great MovieDon't know why it's not getting good reviews. It was great to see the characters of this children's book come to life on screen. The actors did a great job at portraying and looking very much alike to the stick figure characters in the book.
Diary of an Annoying Kid
I have a pretty high tolerance for kids movies but this one was more than I could take. I haven't read the books but, according to my 12-year-old, this movie is stitched together from several of them (no wonder it lacks any semblance of narrative cohesion). Also, they apparently changed Greg, the main character, so that in addition to being wimpy, he has an oversized ego. Hard to find a more annoying combination IMO. If you have kids, they may dig it but no adult should be forced to sit through this horrible excuse for a movie, which stinks more than that ancient piece of moldy cheese out on the playground.
so funny
took my kids to see this movie not reading the books myself didn't know what to expect but it was hilarious, can't wait for the others to make it out in theaters
Fun, Funny, But...
For pure entertainment and a basic feel good message about popularity and real friendship, Diary of a Wimpy Kid delivers.
Most kids are going to eat up the bathroom and booger humor (sorry about the pun). Most will love the problems Greg Heffley (Zachary Gordon) gets himself into. There were some pretty hysterical and absurd moments that made me laugh out loud. Lots and lots of physical humor and lots and lots of bad ideas. Greg eventually learns some important lessons like real friends trump popularity and popularity isn't everything especially if it costs your self-respect and good friends. However, Greg does a little bit of damage while getting to the lessons.
Parents may want to consider that this movie contains a few subtle negative messages. First, there are the parental units who are generally clueless. Now, for most older kids to teens this is a real fantasy -- who doesn't want to do what they want to do when they want to do it? Who wants rules and parents sticking their noses in and redirecting or handing out consequences? The more parents are portrayed that way, though, I wonder if kids begin to chafe even more against their own parents who might not be so easy going or easily fooled. I know most kids do know movies from reality. But the more that stereotype is tossed out there the more I wonder if that's not part of the "but everyone's doing it, Mom." mentality.
The older brother, Roderick, is a completely mean-spirited jerk. And in some of Greg's dealings with the world it almost feels like he has picked up some lessons from Roderick. The leading female within Greg's class is so annoying I wonder how she could be popular, oh, yes, it's because she threatens everyone. Some of the light-hearted fun is hobbled because of these characters and their excessive meanness. Some remarks made my two friends flinch. Roderick has a biker babe magazine under his bed and it appears in a few scenes. His mother confronts him about the disrespect he's shown all womankind while his friends laugh during the confrontation.
Aside from the parental warnings, it's-a-laugh-a-scene movie that most older kids will enjoy.
Stays true to the book, but not quite as good
I took my 9-year-old to see this movie last month. He's a huge Wimpy Kid fan (name a 9-year-old who isn't, eh?) and was excited to go see it. I wasn't sure what to expect. I had read the books with him so I knew the story was cute, but changing it into a movie seemed a bit... odd.
The story itself is about a kid, Greg, who starts middle school and his mom gives him a diary (journal) to write about his experiences in. To say that Greg isn't the most popular kid in school is an understatement. And then there's this slice of cheese thing... oh, you just have to read the book/see the movie/whatever.
The actors all do a decent job, with the exception of Rodderick. I found his acting to be over-the-top, unbelievable and annoying. The plot follows the first book pretty well (meaning it doesn't resemble my middle school at all, but hey, this is fiction). My son did proclaim the book to be better than the movie.
Overall, a must-see for your Wimpy Kid fan. Entertaining and stays true to the book.

Anyways...
You can do the same reaction I'm doing, using the markers below. (The easiest way: The document "prepared novels" in the search bar at BN.com. On the side of the marina, you will see a block titled "Click skimmed through different novels." En "best sellers". The site differs from the sales ranking of classification (probably due to different algorithms), so scroll through the list of ten titles. For other searches, where an operator can show 100 degrees in an old-fashioned, this interview may show only ten. Click "Next" to expand their research.) I am not learning about how sales are in accordance with the classifications. My hypothesis is that since the medium is regularly updated throughout the day, a running count of sales are made, where sales are fresh outweigh the higher sales. In addition, sales are on the recitation of other evidence, not a set number of copies sold. The gross sales volume is progressive. Objective as two football teams can be unbeaten in a matter of football and you may qualify more than the other, so are the securities mentioned herein sequentially in reference to everything else. In doubt, criticism can only be compared with the titles of NOW.Retail sales were demanding last year, and with the media dubbing "hellish Friday" as "Smoky Friday" this year due to reduced consumer spending this year will be legal as a challenge. Not surprisingly, Diary of a Wimpy Kid continues to offer surprisingly good. While it is a mix of cartoon and abstract, the publisher (Abrams) labels form found through a keyword search for "comics". Even the parody Papercutz, "Diary of a Stinky Kid" is selling well, which is a kind of unexpected for a send up.Another evergreen, this epithet has shown the charts since its rescue in 2005. Three volumes every joke and provide significant additional of this classic series. A wonderful feeling inclined to obtain information....
