Best Christmas CD
For many years I've been looking for a Christmas CD that contained all of my favorite Christmas songs by the original artist and I just couldn't find what I was looking for anywhere until I found the perfect CD on Amazon.com.
The name of the CD is called "Now That's What I Call Christmas!" There are 2 discs with 36 Christmas songs from the past and present. A sample of some of the original songs are, The Christmas Song, White Christmas, Blue Christmas, Let it Snow!, Let it Snow!, There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays, Rockin Around The Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock. I love this CD and I highly recommend it to everyone who loves to listen to Christmas music as much as I do!

If I only had ONE Christmas music CD...
Okay, it's two CDs (part of the value!), but if I were only going to make a single Christmas music purchase, I'd start here.

I'm old enough to remember watching Bing Crosby sing White Christmas and Elvis sing Blue Christmas... and they're both here. Who doesn't love hearing Burl Ives' "Holly Jolly Christmas" from the end of "Rudolph"? Speaking of the red-nosed one, we get Gene Autrey's original version. My Holiday Spirit let me chuckle during the ridiculous "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer". We get beautifully crooned tunes from Johnny Mathis and Nat King Cole, plus more contemporary recordings like The Bosses version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" and the Band Aid All-Star version of "Do They Know It's Christmas" - the recording that led to "We Are The World" and expanded global consciousness by celebrities.

In short - the 36 tracks on these 2 discs cover old and new, funny and serious, hip and white-bread. At Christmas I can make room for a wide variety. For the Christmas music-less person on a budget - this is better than a "buy one get one free" offer.

Andrea Bocelli My Christmas Album
I received this CD as a Christmas gift two years ago. Since then I have listened to it many times. Andrea Bocelli has a great voice (as most of his fans know) but the songs in this CD are just awesome. As a music fanatic, my family usually gives me Cd's as presents, but this particular one has been one of the most enjoyable for me. I would recommend buying this one, either to give or keep for yourself. You'll love it!

Brevity
Every song sung by this artist is very good. He does well with English and everyone can enjoy this Christmas music especially listening to a different voice rather than the American singers we have heard for years.

Andrea Bocelli Christmas
I got this wonderful CD for one song, "The Lords' Prayer" with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
Absolutely stirring in every way! We plan to play it at my mother's funeral as she approaches her final days
at age 99. It will be a wonderful way to end her service.

A Truly Gifted Talent
I enjoy Andrea Bocelli's music a lot. What touched me about the "My Christmas" CD is that he can sing with anyone. I like opra, I just can't understand the language which means, I can't understand the story; but this CD is in english. I just love Andrea Bocelli! There is nothing he can't sing!!!

Great Christmas CD
I love the songs on this CD! I played this CD all throughout the Christmas holidays. I specially liked "Winter Wonderland" (Vanessa Hudgens); "The Christmas Song" (Charice); and "Santa Baby" (Kellie Pickler). It must have been the way these artists performed each song -- with lots of feeling and for the first two, a very soothing and sweet voice.

I hope they will be included again when another volume (Volume 8) is added to "A Very Special Christmas" CD series.

Now that I know that some of the proceeds go to the Special Olympics, I will be on the lookout for this series every Christmas from now on.

another Christmas volume?
i'm beginning to get tired of this kind of recordings, because while the first volumes were played and sung by the most important artists (Springsteen, Mellencamp, Nicks and so on), the last ones are by some few known singers, some of them very good or at least good, but some really poor. this compilation is made of high (Miley Cyrus, Carrie Underwood) and sometime low level. for collectors and fanatics only.
p.s. is Underwood available for supper tonight? oh no, i'm forgetting i've got a wife......

Good, but not as good as previous volumes
I got this CD on amazon.com for $9.99. I know the money goes for a good cause, so I was hopeful. I'm not familiar with most of the artists, but my favorite tracks on this CD are:

Little Drummer Boy
Do You Hear What I Hear
Jingle Bell Rock
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Last Christmas
Silent Night

Little Drummer Boy with a Jamaican beat was interestring. Silent Night has all the verses. Miley's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree is okay, at least Britney and the Jonas Brothers aren't on this CD. It just seems this edition took a different turn from the first three in this series. A decent follow up, but not great like the first three VSC CDs were.

Not on the same par as the other ones
This edition of the popular Very Special Christmas series was a huge disappointment. The best song is done by Carrie Underwood but even that is not very inspired.
I felt like I was listening to amateur's frankly. None of the artists distinguised themselves on this edition and I'd pass. The best ones are from the 80's!

Like all the other Christmas albums I own...
Have to tell you, I was suckered in by the Ultimate title, and a singer or two that sounded more recent. It turned out to be just another same ole Christmas album with one or two songs I hadn't heard. Some of the songs are just plain not good renditions - IMHO, of course.

A cool compendium of Christmas songs
Imagine a CD with such songs as Bing Crosby singing "White Christmas" or Judy Garland singing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" or Elvis Presley taking on "Blue Christmas" or Dionne Warwick warbling "It's Beginning to Look a Lot like Christmas" or Johnny Mathis' version of "Sleigh Ride."

Other performers? A potpourri! Nat King Cole, Boyz II Men, Ella Fitzgerald, Luciano Pavarotti, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Kenny G, Eartha Kitt, Carly Simon, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, and Sarah McLachlan.

This is my family holiday gift to us all. So that on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, we can listen to some classics!!

Not recommended
This and Ultimate 2 are perhaps the worst Christmas music CD's that I have ever purchased. Almost every artist seems to think that they know better what the music to Christmas carols ought to be than the composer. Enough already! I would like traditional sounds, not these abortions!
