My grandson loves itI bought this book for my grandson who is now 10 months old. He loves looking at the pictures and watching his Nana make a fool of herself while she sings the song. I like the fact that the music notes are included on the back of the book. I had forgotten the melody so that really helped.
Head and shoulders above the rest
My daughter loves the illustrations, and this is one of the books that gets her up and dancing. Many books are great to listen to, but this makes her get up and do a little dance.
Beware, iPad users!
iPad users beware. This is in black and white!! No color inside.Really not for the iPad.
A delightful toddler song captured with endearing illustrations!
All toddlers hear this song---from parents, librarians, preschool teachers---and here it is in a charming book with very cute illustrations. A winning combination!
Cute book for little kids just learning the song
This book is a very cute addition to the toddler literature. My little guys love singing the song and it is great for them to see the motions on the pages as well. It is not quite as good as some of the others in the series, but still a good purchase for the price. Especially for those kids who cannot get enough books!

Great for learning names of animalsI've been trying to get my 16 month old son to learn more words, and this has been the book to do that. The page on the left asks a question about which animal makes a particular sound. The page on the right has a flap and underneath the flap is the answer. My 16 month old loves to open the flaps. I've found this book to be really helpful in teaching him more vocabulary. He lifts the flap and I repeat the name of the animal several times. If you want your toddler to learn more words, this is a good book for it. Story books don't have the same effect.
Great infant starter book!
I bought this to begin reading to our 6-month old granddaughter when she visits every week.
The pictures hold her attention, and she loves it when I open the flaps and make the sound of
the animal shown. The length of the book is just right. I wasn't sure I'd like the "chunky" size,
but it's great.
Great Flap Book for LIttle Ones
I absolutely love this book! I bought it for my 14mo old after seeing how much she loved her older brothers' lift-the-flap books. She was way to rough to be able to play with the older kids books, so when I saw this one I just had to get it. She loves it and I love that she gets to help open the flaps. It's really sturdy, and its small size makes it so easy to toss in a purse or bag for on-the-go entertainment. I've since ordered more chunky flap books, and have been searching for more.
Excellent, interactive book for 1 year and up
My son is 1-year old and this is the first book to really capture his attention. He brings it to me to read over and over again every day. Pulling the flaps open to see the surprise behind each one keeps his attention steadily and he enjoys learning the animal sounds. I highly recommend this one for the early years; in fact, I am buying a second one to have as a back up in case the flaps on this one get too worn!
Fun little book
This is a very simple book, smaller than I expected, but my 15 month old really enjoys it. We find lots to talk about in the details of the picture, plus the lift-the-flap pages keep her entertained.

Great for a little boyMy son loves this book even though he's too active to sit through the whole thing. The apple shape is attractive for toddlers.
Very small book!
This is a very small book! I wish I would have known the size before I purchased it. Richard Scarry is great, but I would have prefered a book that is bigger than the palm of my hand.
Cute board book!
I loved Richard Scarry books as a child and I was so excited to get this board book for my nine-month-old son. The illustrations are so cute of the various cars, trucks, and vehicles, and of the Richard Scarry animals driving them. The book is a nice short length so it maintains my son's interest when I read it to him. This is a great board book for babies and I highly recommend it!
great book
I really like this book, it's small so it's easy to travel with. I love how many different pictures there are, very detailed and interesting. Also, the silly cars like the bananamobile and the lpickle car and egg car are cute and different. Great buy, good stocking stuffer!
a winner!!
My son loves this book. We have tons of books and this is one of his favorites. We read our initial copy so much that we bought another. A great book, especially if your child is interested in transportation.

Love this book!I didn't know what all the hype was over these books until we read them. My daughter who is 10 months LOVES this book...she loves the part when the "three singing pigs say LA LA LA" she loves to say LALALA....then at the end when you read it's quiet now what do you say"- She goes LALALALALA so funny! This has become our new favorite book- I highly recommend this!
Silly Book Allows for Flexible Reading
This was our first Boynton book for baby.
My husband and I have different storytelling styles that include whispering, singing, and so on.
This book (as with most of Boynton's books) allow for a wide range of style in storytelling that can accommodate different reading adults AND the growing child.
The same story can have a different narrative voice, as it were, for years to come.
It works.
This book lives up to the hype. We got it for our daughter when she was like 8-9 months old and she's grown to anticipate what the animals say by around 15 months old. She excitedly asks for this book. Lots of the Boynton titles are pretty good, but this one was a natural fit.
One of the best!!
I love this Sandra Boynton book! I bought it for my daughter when she was a little over 1 and it was one of the only books that I could read to her. She loves all the animal noises and has gotten really good at matching the sound to the animal. Should would listen to it over and over. It was great for the airplane! When she finally figured out how to say the animals noises, she gets so excited everytime! A priceless book that all babies should have!
Fun to read!!!
After reading many of the great reviews for this book, I decided to purchase it for my 10 month old son! I had purchased many books to read to him, hoping to find one he really liked, and I won the lottery with this one. This is the book that he looks for and brings to me to have it read to him. He loves hearing me tell him the sounds the animals make, and after reading it several times, he now tries to imitate the sounds himself, which is adorable!!

Wonderful Book!We love this book! Right after we took it out of the box, we read it and LOOOOOVED it! My 6 1/2 month old son smiled and giggled at each page, eager to see what was next. I can't wait to see what else this author has!
Good
Nice book, the last page as some people mentioned generate a good reaction in my son.... try it.
one of the all time favorites
My son has loved this book for well over a year. He is 22 months and still loves it. I have to buy another copy since he spent his time teething with this book. I don't get too tired of reading it either. You will love it!
Great for Young Babies
I admittedly found this book inane when we first bought it for my then one-year-old. She enjoyed looking at it a few times, and then we put it aside. I started reading it to my second child when she was 2 months old, and 9 months later, this is still the only book she will sit still for! She will bring the book to me and even mimics the sounds. I would not recommend this for children already over one, but Peek A Who? is a great introduction to books for young babies.
One of her favorites!
My daughter loved this book right away and it's still one of her favorites! (She's 13 months now - was about 7 months when we bought it.) It's a great concept - partially hidden pictures where you have to turn the page to see what's there - very few words - rhymes on every page. And the fact that there's a mirror at the back totally seals the deal - what could be better to a baby? :-)

Totally fed up with ads in theaters
Let's concur to disagree on motivation. As to the money question. let's take global warming for example. Al Gore has made millions pushing discard science and deceit. He and the other useful idiots who are engaged in indoctrinating school kids with stories of dead antagonistic bears and drowning cities all have financial gain in site. GE is as corrupt as they come. Do you think that they are pushing windmills, and such and patronage the Obama agenda for concern over the environment? Do you think that if federal handouts weren't available in the form of grants that any of these renewable spirit pushers would be doing it on their own? Be real! As they say follow the money! That's what I mean about the money!!!The argument over energy independence goes nowhere because all environmentalists do is congest and sue at every corner. We are the only country who doesn't use our own resource base. We are the only country who won't expand nuclear capacity.
