RecalledThis item has been recalled in Canada, along with the shape pound a peg and sorting stacker, and several other products for barium. I wish I had known this months ago. My child had all 3 items.
not great
there are blocks that are almost the same shape as others; it would be difficult for a young toddler to figure this out. heck, it takes me a minute to do it. the corners are not rounded, so there are sharp wood corners!!
Good idea, bad design
My 2 year old daughter loves to play with the cube, but she (and I) get frustraged because the lid does NOT, not stay on at ALL once you turn the cube to get to the other shapes and all the pieces you had inside spill out and you got to start all over again, it needs velcro, a latch or something.
Don't waste your money.
Fun and Interesting
I bought this cube for my 8 month old daughter - she's a little young yet for it, but she really likes getting the feel of the blocks.

The box is hollow, so if you put the shapes into their slots all the way, they just fall into the box. I had to put a smaller box in, so my son could play with the shapes without wanting to open the box each time.

Lots of fun for three-year-oldsI bought this set for my three-year-old twin grandchildren (boy and girl). They have great fun having tea parties together: "Would you like some tea?" my precocious granddaughter asks her brother. Only one problem: the teapot leaked at the point where a screw in the spout holds the pot together. Made a terrible mess. I contacted the company and they replied immediately, sending me a new pot, which works perfectly. I highly recommend this set.

Leaks
My 3.5 year old daughter has been playing with this tea set since Christmas. She loves to pour "pretend tea" with water... and I encourage this, but where's the fun in having water spill ALL OVER THE PLACE (because the spout leaks from the base) and having to continuously clean up? This is the only reason this product gets 3 stars. Oh, and my 11 month old always gravitates toward this play set.
Great toy for any age
I noticed that this set was suggested for ages 3 and up due to smalls pieces being a choking hazard, so I was hesitant to get this for my 1 yr old as a birthday present. But I went ahead and got it and don't regret it. She has had a blast pretending with it. I feel completely comfortable with her playing with it. I think the pieces are a great size. She's even learning to drink from a cup using the teacups in this set.
Fantastic toys!
This set was purchased as a gift; we already own a set . . . my daughter loves her set and so we thought her little friend would too . . . very sturdy/durable and nice colors too . . . love that it's made from recycled materials. I definitely recommend this!

CheapI did not keep this item very long before sending it back. The blue thing holding the flutes together was just a toe separater...VERY flimsy. The flutes would have just fallen out had I allowed my child to play with them. The drum is small but I didn't really have complaints about that. My main complaint was that the product showed up USED when it was supposed to be new! There were HAIRS in the tape holding the pieces inside the box and there were parts of the xylophone that were missing. Yours may not come in this condition, but this was completely unacceptable!
Something different for the tub.
The xylophone sounds nice, but not sure why the keys come apart, just something else to loose. Sound is pretty, but the keys are small and a little hard to hit accurately for little ones. The drum is has a rather dead tone, but still fun to bang on in the tub. I like that you can change the pitch by tipping it and letting some water in underneath. The flutes do not retain the amount of water you put in due to the required air vent need to play them if you let them fall int he water, but they sound nice. Several songs included. All-in-all a fun toy set for the tub.
not just bath toys!
My 2 year old son is very into instruments, especially drums (which is also what he calls xylophones) so this is a perfect bath and everywhere toy. The whistles are really cool too bc they change pitch depending on how much water is in them...he doesn't get that, yet..but he loves blowing into them
We love it!
My husband is always skeptical of the "toys" I buy for our daughter. But once we took the instruments out of the box he was impressed. I bought this for our daughter's first birthday and within a short time she's already learn to blow into the water flutes! She loves to bang on the xylophone and drum too. These also make excellent out-of-the-tub toys. They are great! Highly recommend!
maybe too much of a good thing
My 2.5-yr-old daughter loves her new tub toys so much, she played for another half hour naked and dripping wet in a dry tub. My husband says "why did you have to buy this, I had bath time down to 5 minutes!" The toys are great fun. It teaches adjustment of musical tone, fine motor skills, and musical skills. I plan to buy another set for my niece for her third birthday. I couldn't find another bath toy that comes close to the quality and learning potential of this set.

Perfect for the young aspiring cookMy 18-month old has loved to watch me cook ever since she was old enough to hold her head up, so this is the perfect toy for her. All the pieces are light weight yet durable. We don't have to worry about damage to the furniture when she bangs the pots around since they are plastic. She is a taller child (33") and I find that the scale of the set perfect for her to grow into.

My 2 year old grand-daughter loves this play set! She cooks pretend food with her magnetic alphabet letters...uses it in the bath tub...eats her oatmeal out of it...very durable...bright colors...and made from recycled materials
Funky colors; adorable set
We loved that this set if made in the USA from recycled plastic and is BPA free. The colors are a little wonky and if you're concerned about everything coordinating or matching then this may not be the set for you. My boys aren't concerned about that and my almost 2 yr old puts the pieces in his mouth so for us we are just happy it's free of all the typical plastic chemicals. Perfect size for toddler/preschooler hands. We use this with the Plan Toys breakfast tray that includes eggs, salt/pepper, cheese, etc. It's the perfect combination and fits the HABA pop open fried egg perfectly! I only wish they would come out with some other pieces, maybe a colander, etc. The amazon price on this is excellent and ours arrived very quickly. Minimal packaging that is recyclable; nicely packaged for giving as a gift, too.

I bought this for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday. I was amazed at the quality of these dishes. Everything in the stores are cheap and flimsy. Not these. Great colors, too!

Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters are deemed unsafe and possibly toxic
Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters have been found to be unsafe and by any chance toxic. The Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters apparently have a higher-than-allowed level of a chemical called antimony, which could precede to health problems in children. The consumer group that did the review of the product also found dangerous levels of tin in the product as well. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the safest conceivable toy, the Zhu Zhu Pets hamster only received a 5.2.
According to the Good Guide Consumer Group, antimony is a metal that has fitness effects that include possible cancer, lung, and heart problems and could also impact fertility. The problem with antimony is that it is old in the construction of this toy, and it can be released from the plastic in question during use. On the positive side of things, the Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters show no signs of lead, mercury, PVC, cadmium, arsenic, or chromium, all which are hazardous things that can be found in some other children's toys.
So the main question now becomes what should people do with this information? Zhu Zhu Pets say that their toys are "absolutely safe" and that there is no end to fear them because they "have gone through the most rigorous testing in the toy industry for consumer health and safety."(1) Now it's accepted to be at the discretion of parents as to whether or not their kids can have these new Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters, because it is clear that the potential does exist that they could harm children.
