Glad we made the investment
We bought this swing the day before our baby was born and I'm so glad we did. I had read some of the reviews on it and most were positive - I was a little concerned about the "motor" noise some people mentioned. We put our baby in it the first time and she loved it - she would sleep wonderfully in it. Actually, when she was a brand new baby, its about the only place she would sleep. There was some "noise" from the motor, I guess you could say, but it was such a low hum that it didn't bother me or her. I think it might have even soothed her because it was sort of like a white noise. The speakers on this swing are incredible. I was surprised at the quality of sound that came out of this swing. One poster labeled it Bose worthy and I would have to agree. Sound is very high def and crystal clear. Even my iPod sounds great hooked up to the swing. We keep the swing in our living room so when I'm cleaning I hook the iPod up to it. We've never loaded any baby songs on our iPod for her, I guess that feature was more of a plus for us. But the music that comes standard on it is very soothing, and the nature sounds are beautiful. I love the rain the best. My daughter is now 6 months old and weighs a whopping 20 pounds! She still takes 2 naps a day in this swing and it swings her just fine. I'm glad it has such a strong motor. Not sure when she'll be too heavy for it. It's very sturdy, made well. I'll be sad the day she outgrows it but will definitely be keeping it for a second baby. I also love that it plugs into the wall - no batteries or things to wind up!
It IS pretty loud, even with a brand new motor!
I got mine on craigslist for half price. The motor was working intermittently and slipping so I called Graco and ordered a new motor (the entire tower) for 50 dollars. It is an older model, or so the customer service rep. told me, but even with a brand new motor mine still makes a pretty loud noise, so much that you have to turn up the TV to be able to hear it over the noise. It will still slow while swinging and almost stop, then starts again, so it seems to be a design flaw and not due to a run down motor. I also think the vibrating chair is even louder than the swinging motion.

My two week old can still fall asleep despite the noise, and it is one of the few places he will stay asleep for hours. The music entertains my 3 year old, and he likes to sing along. The sound quality is nice, and it does seem a bit loud to me while the baby is sleeping, but not loud enough to disturb him. He also likes to watch the toy hanging from the canopy.
I loved it, My son did not.
I bought this because of all of the features. My favorite was the MP3 hookup. There are so many ways that this can be used, but my son was more of a hands on baby. He was very colicky and this swing only made him cry more. Its a beautiful swing & so many positions, vibrations, and tons of other things...it just wasnt right for us.
One of the best items I received.
I love this swing. It is very easy to switch the swing seat out for the car seat. My son takes most of his naps in it and when we come home from car trips, I don't have to wake him up by moving him out of the car seat. The only thing I would change is to make it easier to take the material off to clean. You have to unscrew two areas to get the cover off. However,it washes nicely.
Love it!
The BEST Baby Swing! I am a mother of three, and this has by far been my favorite! My only negative is the fact that I have big babies and my son is only 6 mos old and still loves his swing, but he weighs in at 21 lbs and it won't move anymore even though the weight says up to 25 lbs. Something to think about I guess! However, I have not checked the weight limits on the other swings. I may contact Graco, perhaps my swing is defective in that area.

graco swing
I bought this for my son, But I had to return it, I loved the product. But he was a little to big for it.
Nice, But Could Be Made Better
I actually have the Winnie The Pooh Design -- -- not the Bluegrass design.

My daughter actually slept in this Graco swing for 5 weeks because she didn't seem to want to sleep any other way! It is a nice swing, but it looks and feels cheaply made. Also, the power cord that came with it has a short or something because we had to tape the cord to one of the legs of the swing in a particular way so that it works.

Pros:
1. Six different swing modes
2. Eight different sound settings
3. Easy to put together; everything pretty much snaps into place (you still need to read the directions, though)
4. Buckles so baby cannot slide or wriggle out of the seat
5. Four reclining positions (but none of them lay totally flat)

Cons:
1. Sometimes the swing modes do not consistently work (often pressing one of the swing buttons is not enough... I usually have to give the swing seat a push to get it to start its normal rhythm)
2. I find the sounds annoying! Even the musical settings sound strange! I'd say out of 8 sound settings, two are tolerable...
3. The swing makes a lot of noise... there is a constant clicking sound as the swing rocks back and forth and this is not one of the sound settings
4. Again, the power cord that it came with has a short in it
5. It looks cheap and feels a bit cheap...

Overall, I am reasonably happy with it and it actually has helped me get more sleep (lol). My daughter sometimes doesn't like to be strapped in, but when she has been changed and fed and still she's fussy, we will put her in this swing and it will soothe her and keep her quiet for at least an hour to an hour and a half at a time.

Complete POS
My daughter didn't like swinging so the swing got very little use. Even so, the motor stopped working after after 9 months. It would just make a clunking sound. Even when it did work, the buttons were flaky. I would have to push the buttons just right, too hard or too long and the swing would turn on and back off again. When it was running it made excessive noise.

For $40 Greco sold me another motor section, but by the time it arrived, my daughter had outgrown the swing so I never used it! I put the swing in storage. Now I have another baby so I got the swing out and found it doesn't work. The motor makes the same clunking noise as the old broken one.
We Love this swing!!!
This swing is awesome it plugs in which makes it great!! We have one at our house and Mimi's house. Great swing!!!
motor burnt out
I thought this swing was a gift from heaven. My daughter loved it. For 3 weeks she loved it and then the motor blew out. After looking online I found this was a common problem. I guess you can call Graco and they'll send you a new motor but who has time to deal with that? And that motor will probably burn out quickly. Luckily we were able to return it. It would have been a very expensive thing to own that only worked for 3 weeks. So beware.

Love this swing
Not too big or small. Baby loves music on low and sleeps in the swing. Use it from birth on. Doesn't seem sturdy when putting it together, but it is secure and safe. I tug on it and move it from room to room. Perfectly safe. Highly recommend this product.

Tip: To get gross fire retardant chemical out of seat cover, new clothes or other new items, use vinegar with laundry detergent in your wash. Works great on all new fabric items.
Nice Baby Swing
This swing is smaller than some, and doesn't have all the features that other larger swings have, such as the music options. But we owned a bigger one with our first child and then ended up giving it away and then buying this one with our second child, and all those extra features are pointless to spend money on. I also actually like that this swing is a bit smaller because it takes up less space and does the same job as the bigger swing. It's also battery operated and that's all I really care about. We never used the music or other sounds with the other swing anyway, so why pay more for them? Also, if you aren't sure if your child specifically is going to like the swing, it's nicer to find out by spending less money than paying a lot for some "elite" swing and then your baby hating it. I would recommend this swing. It was easy to put together and it takes "C" batteries, so make sure you have some on hand when it arrives!
Decent Swing-Eats batteries
This swing eats up batteries. I have two swings and use them equally. I haven't had to replace the batteries on my other swing (The First Years Gentle Portable Glider) while I've changed the batteries to this swing at least 6 times in the past 3 months. It's also very difficult to open the battery case to change the batteries. Otherwise the swing is decent. I'm not too crazy about it. Good for the price unless you count in all the money spent on batteries.
Never Worked
I bought this swing ahead of the birth of our third child. I got the entire Graco Tango in the Tongo line (Swing, High Chair, Playpen, Car Seat, Stroller). I bought the swing too early, by time we had our baby and put the swing together my return window expired. The swing has never worked right - it will only swing for around 2 minutes. It sounds like the gears are messed up - we turn it on, set the speed and give the swing a go. It sounds like crap for a minute or so then the sound gets better but that's because the swing stops swinging. This is our third kid and we have purchased a lot of Graco products but this one is not good.
Minor problem
We've totally enjoyed this swing except for one minor design problem. The first one we ordered did not work so I ordered a replacement. When that one came it did not work either. So I troubleshot it with a voltage tester and found the the positive side of the middle 2 batteries (it uses 4) was not making any contact. I used a screwdriver to bend the contact pins out a little and it then worked fine. I'm certain this is what was wrong with the first one so if you have a problem getting it to work I would bend these 2 wires out a little and try it then.

Must have item for twins!!!
I have 3 month old twin girls and they simply love this swing!!!! I love it because it's so convenient and doesn't take up so much space in our home. I like to put the swing on the highest setting when they're being fussy and it instantly puts them to sleep. This is a good investment I purchased two for less than the price of a standard swing. I always get a lot of compliments on them when we have visitors over , everyone says how different and convenient it is and how they wish something like this was around years ago. This is most definitely a good buy!!!
Great
Just put this together and put the carseat in with a ton of toys in it for weight and it was going strong... folds up nice and compact. Great for grandmas house... got mine on clearance at BBRUS for $30!!!
Lowers oxygen levels
Do you all realize that multiple studies have demonstrated that the longer a baby remains in a car seat the lower his oxygen levels drop? If the infant's oxygen levels reach dangerous lows then the resulting hypoxia places the infant at risk of developmental delays, lowered IQ, etc. or even positional asphyxia (suffocation due to an overly curled position).

This is why the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that car seats be used only for in-vehicle transportation purposes.
I'm amazed Graco has this product on the market.
Depends on the baby
We got this before my son was born. He hated his car seat so this didn't get much use. We tried to sell it at a yard sale with no luck, so down to the basement it went.
Then our daughter was born. She loves her car seat, and loves this product as well.
I would have given it 5 stars, but the clicking noise is loud (again daughter loves it as it's a white noise to her). Also, the speed setting is very hard to get "just right".

Works well
Since we already had a snug-rider, this seemed to be the perfect fit--both for the seat and for our budget. We've only had it for about a month now, but everything seems to work smoothly. The seat clips in perfectly, it's lightweight and easy to move, though a bit awkward if you're packing it up to move somewhere. Our baby loves the rocking motion, the vibrations, and especially the soothing water sounds. He likes the music too, but the water is a bit more subtle and less distracting if you're listening to other music or watching TV.

I am not giving this the full 5 stars because of the awkwardness of packing this item up in the car (the frame where the seat sits is a bit bulky and doesn't lock for easy transport) and because of the battery life. We go through new batteries once per week for the rocking engine, sometimes twice. Also seems odd that the batteries do not power both the music and the rocker, which makes it a bit more of a pain to replace.

Overall, I do believe this is a good, solid product at a reasonable price.

Great Buy!
I bought this swing for my 1st child and he absolutely loves it. He hated sleeping in his pack-n-play and sitting in his bouncer so it was great to find something that he is just as happy sleeping in as he is when he's awake. The various speeds are great because you can increase them as the baby grows(which is a must if your child has acid relux). Also, the music function is good since it changes songs regularly so you're not listening to the same one over and over again. The colors are great for either sex which is why we bought the entire Inman Park collection. The only downfalls to the swing are that is has a small clicking sound as the motor pushes it and the bears are fixed at a high position so my 9 week old has to hold his head at an uncomfortably high angle to see them. However, both of these cons are minimal in comparison to the many pros that this swing offers.
works good but not as good as others
We got this swing before our boy was born. It went together somewhat easily, a little confusing if you don't use the instructions. now 2 months old...
Our son does not like this swing. He does not mind being in the bouncy seat part of it, but not for more than 10-15mins.
The BADS: The pullover tray is very hard to close and keep closed (possible safety hazard). The vibrator on the seat is extremely loud. The plastic on the legs break after awhile. The seat is not perfectly lined up when on the swing. It swings crooked. The animals on top are too high for the baby to really see.
The price is TOO high for what you get.
We ended up listing ours on craigslist and cant get any takers.
We bought the other kind of swing that allows the baby to swing sideways or forwards and is adjustable. Works much better.
Great space saver!
My son has used this since when brought him home from the hospital. He has really bad reflux so he actually slept in the bouncer until he was around 11 weeks old. I love that this is a swing and a bouncer in one because we have a tiny house. The tray was hard to snap on and off so we just removed it. My son is 3 months old and we still have it removed but we may put it back on when he is older. He is a very active baby so he wasn't too interested in the toys but we were able to hang our own toys on it. He loves the vibration feature on the bouncer but I think we used it too much because now it sounds like a motor boat and we have to hit it once in a while to make it vibrate.
Graco Swing 'n Bounce 2-in-1 Infant Swing, Broadstreet
Wonderful, just wonderful. My 5-1/2 month old really enjoys it. So much that she falls asleep. It's not hard to assembled, takes about 20-30 minutes. The directions are very clear, at least it was to me. The swing/bouncer is sturdy and the harness really keeps the baby in. It takes "D" batteries, I think about 4-6. The bouncer's vibrating motion is optional which is where the 2 out of 4-6 "D" batteries come into play. My baby basically likes the swinging motion.Graco Swing 'n Bounce 2-in-1 Infant Swing, Broadstreet
Good, good and good.
Love it. Wish it were not so hard to take apart and more collapsible. It would be nice if the bouncy part tilted back on the floor, hard for small, floppy-headed newborns but it's good.

Graco Baby Swing - News

Betting on the right baby swing
The prerogative baby swing can be a busy parent's best friend (or, as some parents argue, a neglect-o-matic).
