great swing
We love this swing. It keeps my newborn busy for some time. This is the only place -aside from grandma's arms- that he takes a daytime nap. Everywhere else, he wakes up every 10 minutes. My only complaint is that you can't remove the head support. It makes my baby's head tilt down. I am always worried that he won't be able to breathe. I try to prop him up higher so this does not happen. If he were taller (he is 21 inches now), this would not be a problem. Otherwise, it would have been 10 stars.
Fantastic product
I purchased this product after reading a lot of reviews from Amazon website. I am very happy with this purchase. The product was delivered in 3 days in great condition by Amazon. It was very easy to assemble, under 1 hr. Overall a great swing. My 1.5 mths son love it. He falls asleep in it right away. The lights and sounds are very soothing. The best thing is that you donot need BATTERIES. Just plug it and you can use it. There is an option of using batteries if needed.
I would recommend this product highly.
great swing
My 3 mo. has used this swing since his first week home. He often will take his morning nap in it. He prefers the back to front motion instead of side to side. The little lamb motifs fit in well with our home decor and doesn't scream baby land. I would recommend the swing to anyone.
My baby LOVES this swing!
Received this as a gift and my baby loves it! She usually takes a mid-day nap in it and smiles all the time.
Beautiful and sturdy
We have not used the swing yet, but it seems to be very sturdy. Set up was easy and it looks great. Seems like a good model overall.

bad design- will stop working on you
I got this swing as a gift- I did not buy it from amazon, but I insist everybody know what a piece of junk it turned out to be. We were so excited at first beacuse it matched my new born son's room and we loved the sounds, and it worked great at first, but after 2 months, the swing began to stall (batteries and electric). 2 days later, the glide function went out. I called fisher price and got a new set of parts to switch out and that didn't help either. I now have to ship pieces back to them, and then wait a few more weeks for my refund. By the time I get the money back, my son may be too big for the swing all together. I looked at their website and some otehr reviews, and apparently this is happening to alot of people. BUYER BEWARE.
Modern design without sacraficing functionality
This swing is the best we've had. It's 4 ways of movement give you a couple of options in case your little one does not take to the traditional swing like motion. We thought our baby might enjoy the gliding motion, only to find that she really doesn't care for it at all. At least we have the swinging. Sometimes, if she gets cranky while in her swing, all we do is change from the traditional swing to the cradle rock and she's better. Now that she's older, she enjoys looking at the butterflies and mirror that hang above her. The music is also more moderninzed and has a nice tune of lullabies, another of birds, another that sounds like a babbling brook, and one that is ocean waves. All sounds that don't make your ears bleed after listening to them for an extended period of time. And...it's soft cover cushion makes me want to lie in there myself. As long as it doesn't break down like other posts have mentioned, this swing is a godsend. And that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
multiple dissapointments
positives:
pleasing to the eye. very comfy seat. directly plug to the wall socket saving batteries.

Negatives:
Fisher Price seems to have released this product without doing proper product testing - first unit I bought had a faulty glider that jerked the entire unit, rather violently, when it changed direction. We called Fisher Price and they sent a new unit. we changed the base and tried the new one to find out the glider was still jerky, though reltively less intense. but the kicker this time - the swing in the second unit does not work at all. our baby is rathe small (~7 lbs), so it obviously isn't a weight problem.
we've called Fisher Price again and they are offering to do a refund of the purchase price or to send yet another new unit. At this point neither of these options are of real value to us given we can get the refund from Amazon (don't need FP to do that) and another new unit will need a considerable amount of time to put together again - When you have a newborn, time's not exactly a luxury you can spare.
It is really frustrating that Fisher Price/ Mattel is playing dumb about these issues - it seems to have no idea why the glider is jerky or the swing useless. what happened to corporate responsibility? don't these products get tested before being sold?
DON"T BUY this swing!!! Loved it, but it BROKE!
This swing has saved my life, and my sanity! I am a first time Mom, and my son has colic. He wouldn't sleep unless he was being held and I was walking/bouncing/patting him, or if I was rocking him in my rocker glider. He sleeps in this swing...all night. Naps in it. Hangs out in it. LOVES IT! We have one for our home, and one at my parents. Absolutely essential for our little guy. The seat does not seem to have much difference in the two recline options, but my son really prefers for it to be in the most reclined option. The moblie doesn't move, but he still loves it and we hang other toys off it for him as well. By the way, the moblie swings out of the way so that you can easily get your child in and out of the swing. (someone complained about that in an earlier review, I don't think she knows she could swing it out of the way!) As our solution to colic, it is a lot better than the morphine drops our pediatrician offered us, which we declined (and were quite shocked that they would even offer!)

UPDATE: I actually own two of these swings, one at my home and one at my parents. Both have broken...one quit swinging and one quit gliding. I am pretty disappointed considering that we paid top dollar for this product, and it is already BROKEN!!
DO NOT BUY!
WASTE OF MONEY! It's new from Fisher Price, and I foolishly thought it would be an improved version of the My Little Lamb swing...the motor is not reliable, problems with the electrical circuits. Built the swing last month after my baby shower, and literally days before I am due, we tested it again - DEFECTIVE! The easy foot controls are not reliable, and there is ZERO difference between speed 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. The swing is in the mail back to Amazon, and the "Little Lamb" is on its way! Should have went with all the positive recommendations, rather than the new product on the block.

Customer Reviews

A must have!
I had used this swing when I was a nanny for twins and knew it would stand up to the competition!! So, I purchased one for my son and have used it everyday, many hours a day with my son and he LOVES it! It plugs in to the wall, which is a must for any swing.

We had a different Fisher-Price swing (my little lamb) which only used batteries, so we went through batteries every 3 days (even spent the money on rechargable ones and had to recharge every other day!) The motor also started to sound like it was going out after only 1.5 months.

This swing is so comfy looking, I even want to climb in some days and fall fast asleep like my little one does. The music is relaxing, the design is so cool. It seems to take up less floor space than most, but maybe that's just because of the way it is shaped. The open top makes it REALLY easy to put baby in and take out. I love the open top the best! It's nice that the chair is removeable, but to be honest, we have a bouncy seat and don't use this function much.

The only thing I would improve, make the mobile move with a switch (it only moves when you move it) and maybe make the "wrap" blanket sides removeable. Other than that, no complaints and I WON'T be returning this one!! This is a must have for baby!
A must have for the little one
This swing is perhaps the best purchase that has been made for our baby thus far. So far it is the only place we can lay the baby that she does not cry if not in our arms. It has a couple odd things about it, but my wife and I have already decided that this is one item that is not going to be handed down to any other family members so that way any future children will have this as well.

Here is some pro's about the swing:
- The seat on the swing is large and incredibly soft. There is a headrest attached to the seat so if you have a newborn you don't have to worry so much about the baby's head moving side to side. My wife and I don't know what fabric it has in the seat, but we know that we wish we had one for us.
- The seat does allow you to latch the baby in for the more active babies that are out there. We keep the baby latched in because we would feel horrible if something ever happened to her, but I honestly have no clue at this point how a baby would fall out of the seat without a parent knowing what was about to happen.
- The seat is detachable, you don't have to use this as a swing or a cradle, you can use it as a simple chair as well. The base for the chair is extremely solid and not easy to tip. If you want to change the seat from a cradle to a swing you simply have to push a button and lift. No need for any fussing.
- The swing motor is simple to use. It can be battery powered if for some reason you decide to hull this thing with you about town, but it can also use AC power. The controls on the swing are simple enough and the swing motor will stop if you put to much pressure on the seat. So if there is a crying baby and you rush to pick her up, the seat won't go off the other direction with your baby.
- Lastly the music. There are three different music buttons on the swing. One is a nature sounds setting that will soothe you into a sleep if you sit to close, the others are music buttons. From what I can tell they don't have the same songs on any one of the buttons and you can cycle through several different songs per option. In a world of repetitive baby sounds, it is comforting to know that you won't be forced to hear the same song over and over again.

Some of the cons for the swing:
- The motor is a little louder than I would have expected. Don't take this to mean that the motor is so loud you can't have a conversation, it just wasn't what I was expecting. To compare it to something, it seems to be no louder that an old standing clock. It has a sound to it but after the first 10 minutes you won't even hear it anymore.
- The instructions are lacking at best. They tell you how to put things together, but they have a few spots where they say if it isn't working that to turn the piece around and try again.
- It doesn't have much range to the seat. It can lean a little forward or a little back. Its not really a problem for us, but I have seen several other reviewers mention it.

This swing is amazing, the quality is high, and the usability is endless. There will always be good reviews and bad reviews for any product, but this product is truly the best. I don't normally gush over a product, but this is well deserved.
Love This Swing!
Even though baby isn't here just yet, I already love this swing! It took about 20 minutes to put together, and despite the review that the feet can be put on backward, I didn't see how that was possible. Once together, I plugged it into the wall, and it was good to go! It is easy to remove the seat from the swing frame, and it is also easy to turn the seat so that it swings front to back or side to side. The recline doesn't move to much, but it looks like the seat will be comfy for baby. The sounds are great, certainly not irritating like most other baby toys. The seat has a built in blanket, which is very soft. The cover comes off easily and can be machine washed. I'm so glad we got this gift!
Great Swing, Used Daily
We love this swing! My son has been in the 50th percentile for height since birth and is now 6 months old. We still use this swing EVERYDAY! When my son was born, we used it as a bassinet when he would fuss in his crib in the middle of the night. We would detach the chair from the swing and bring it into our bedroom or just move him from his crib to this chair while in his own room, he would stay comfortable in it for hours because it really does cradle him. Now, as a 6 month old he is still comfortable and it will still soothe him to sleep if he is having a rough time. He will stay content in it sleeping, while I do the dishes, or if I just set him down for a minute to go to the bathroom. He now loves to look at the bugs on the mobile. I agree, it would be nice if they moved electronically, but he still loves it. The variety of music is soothing and there are enough songs that after 6 months I am not annoyed by them yet. My son is soothed swinging in either direction, but it is nice to be able to switch him so he can see me if need be. We love that the seat will detach because this seat is more comfortable than his bouncer or bumbo and he will stay happier in it longer than anything else. The biggest perk is that is plugs into the wall. If you do not get this swing, outlet connection is a must-have component of whatever swing you end up getting. I highly recommend this swing to my family and friends. We have loved it and have gotten more use out of it than we ever imagined.
Excellent Swing
My daughter loves this swing. It has so many functions with the music and swing options. We also love that the seat comes off the base and we can sit her next to us outside on the porch or anywhere else. Great swing and love the colors.

Awesome swing-great deal
I love this swing. I originally wanted a swing that would turn into a toddler rocking chair but the only ones I could find were at least $50 more than this swing. I can just wait and buy a rocking chair when he is a toddler with the money I saved. He is three weeks old and already loves the swing. It plays neat sounds and has several speeds. We are going slow right now. The bugs are so cute!! The toys are a little high but they are cute and sway with the movement of the swing. The baby seems to like the nature sounds.

What does a baby really need?

From: Latrice, Shreveport, LA

Hi Latrice,

The accuracy is, a baby doesn't need much at first, especially if you are breast feeding which, by the way, is one of the best gifts you can give your child because it helps keep him or her healthy and it helps you result a wonderful bond with your infant. Once you get the hang of it, it's also a whole lot easier than dealing with formula.

You also need a place for the baby to sleep. Something uninspired works best in the beginning, a bassinet, or a cradle, because babies feel safer when they feel contained; it's one reason why artful how to swaddle a baby (see below, for receiving blankets) is important.

If you are going to take the baby in a car, you need an infant car seat . This could be your single most expensive attain. Avoid used car seats (you don't know if the seat has been in an accident) and be sure to get professional help in learning how to use it suitably.

As far as clothes go, in the beginning, you need:

Nolan Motorcycle Helmet ,Bell Motorcycle Helmet and Yellow Bandana

What Are Essential/best Baby Items To Have As A New Parent? What's ...

We still have many necessary to achieve, so I wanted to ask her opinion. For all those mums and dads out there, I have promised, then the Babies R Us' Checklist of the parents. " What is true? What is not? What is irreparable? What did you do on a whim and we are eternally grateful to have? What turned out to be nothing more than garbage? What brand are the first (ie, I was told that Boudreaux's "Kibitz Paste" is right is not)?

I get a stroller, no doubt, a tour with hini car to start and avoid all the added car seats, strollers and accessories, at least in the beginning. It's tiring to recognize how reliable is the fact that it is current until it is in it. You can test with a charger. You can buy a stroller and disposition of it. Things transmute.
