Its a great video monitor! The only issue I have with it is, although they say it is interference free, it seems to interfere with our wireless connection and cell phone. Otherwise, really good - love the lullaby feature. I would not have my baby sleep in his room if not for this monitor.
NOT 'Interference Free'
Got this as a gift at our babyshower and I was excited to use it with our new baby. Unfortunately it did not live up to our expectations. It has constant interference problems with our WiFi!! Because of this we do not have any audio and can not use the Vox feature that turns the monitor ON when the baby cries. The only reason it received any stars is because the remote lullaby feature has proved to be handy and the video quality is decent. I wish that we had registered for a different monitor. We will be trying to return it to the manufacturer.
Great price for a Great product!!
I bought this only based on reviews. I am happy to say I am NOT disappointed at all. This product has a great image that is very clear. I was concerned at first with the reviews about the inability to pick up 'low' sounds coming from your baby. It does take the level of a normal conversation to activate the VOX but to get a descent nights sleep and not be woken by every little sound made by our son, I am fine with it. The set up and mounting is very easy. This product will not disappoint you at all!!!
Great monitor but wished picked up sound better
Great monitor but wished picked up sound better. There are some cases where we heard the baby and the monitor did not even pick it up.
Its a Good monitor, happy with the purchase
I'm giving overall 4 stars even though there are a few drawbacks. Video quality(color) is not that great, night view is much better than the day view. can't check the battery status. The power adapter cable got a capacitor at the end where the camera is plugged to, minimize the portability. Sound quality is good but volume is too low. Overall i like this product. Its better to buy video monitor rather than an audio monitor, gives u peace of mind.

Very Good Baby-ManitorIt is a very good and useful baby monitor, specially because it does not get any other interference with any signal from other eletronic devices. The image is good and it also shows the image from the darkness of a room. The sound quality should be better, but, if you are sleeping you really don`t need much sound around. I use mine specially to watch my baby.
Am not too impressed
Too much interference...only a 14 day return window...the main unit doesn't have a power plug in(have to use batteries). Eats up batteries quickly. Does have good picture when it your are close to the camera unit.
Don't waste your money
We bought this because of the multi-camera function since we have twins. This is a total waste of money. We had originally ordered the Levana Babyview 20 video monitor but returned it because it doesn't have the ability to connect multiple cameras. Having tried that one out I can tell you that it is a MUCH better product! The sound is much clearer, there is no interference, set up is simple and it actually has a clear picture.
The cons of the SVAT were:
1) It is not 'color' as advertised. I never saw a bit of color on the screen.
2) There is a ton of interference even when our wireless router was turned off. Rolling lines on the screen accompanied by a clicking sound which is exceptionally obnoxious, especially at night. This happens each time it switches between cameras and each time anything comes near the handheld unit.
3) It does not have a sensor which switches it to night vision. You must switch a tiny little switch on the camera. Imagine trying to do this in the dark if you accidentally forgot to do it before puting baby down for the night.
4) The night vision doesn't work well at all. Compared to the Levana Babyview, it is horrible! The Levana could see all the way across the room and was still clear. This is hardly visible from 2 ft. away. One of the cameras (we ordered an extra one seperately) seemed better than the other.
5) The handheld unit is huge and awkward and made out of a cheap plastic which doesn't seem durable at all.
6) The cameras might be fine once they were mounted, but they are also made out of a cheap, lightweight plastic and won't stay put unless they're mounted in place.
7) The instructions are very confusing. When setting up the channels on the handheld unit, down is 'on' and up is 'off' so it took a while to even figure out how to get a picture out of both cameras.
8) In order to use the handheld unit without the ac adaptor, you have to remove the back cover and take out the batteries.
9) The battery life in the handheld unit was horrible! I think they lasted about 2 hours.
10) Before playing with the 3 channels, this totally blocked our wireless router.
The pros were:
1) Price.
2) Ability to add additional cameras.
All in all, I would definitely spend a little more money and get something that works.
Works as advertized - excellent product for travel as well
I work in the intelligence field and I got this to monitor my children downstairs while I'm upstairs in my office. For the price and plug-&-view - this is a great product. I have CCTV security system for my residence - but this little gem can be taken anywhere. Plug in while at a hotel - park your car outside your window - and monitor it while you're in your room. It's versatile to say the least. Shop around for the best price. Glad I got it - it has come in handy alot!
Satisfied
The Video is high quality but there is substantial interferance which creates alot of static in the audio and some static in the video. I was impressed with the quality of the night vision.

Lorex LW2002W - Very Good, but not perfect.Pros:
Good picture quality.
Good audio quality.
Good build quality.
Good wireless range.
No interference or static.
Highly sensitive (VOX) Voice On switch (in non-power saving mode only).
Can connect to external TV.
Charger cradle is very convenient, no need to plug & unplug the charger.
The kick stand and belt clip are awesome features.
Cons:
Poor VOX sensitivity in power saving mode (LCD turns off to save power).
The Battery life is ~1 to 1.5 hrs. in non-power saving mode.
A battery level indicator is needed.
Should use replaceable AA rechargeable batteries, or longer lasting Lithium Ion.
Lacks a talk back feature (from monitor to camera).
Comments:
Used as a baby monitor. Besides the Cons, I love the monitor, it works perfectly as advertised.
Remote light is unnecessary.
Alarm is unnecessary.
The battery life could be prolonged significantly if the VOX worked properly in power saving mode. In power saving mode it takes a loud sound to activate the VOX, and is therefore unusable. I was able to mitigate the battery life issue by placing battery chargers at strategic locations around the house. One in the master bedroom, one in the living room, and of course the cradle charger in the kitchen. I had saved these chargers (power supplies) from old cordless phones we discarded over the years. The proper fitting jacks are available at Radio Shack, just be sure the charger voltage and jack polarity are correct (sorry, a little soldering is required).
Mom of two and I love it!!!
I have had this unit about a month now and so far have not seen anything wrong with it. I was a little hesitant to purchase due to the neg comments concerning the noise control. I have not had a prob with the units sound not activating. It comes on when my daughter sucks her pacifier. So with that said I think it's pretty sensitive. FYI, there is a sensitivity setting on the camera so you can control when the sound activates. (I'm assuming the others didn't have the setting correct on that.) I plugged it into my 40" LED TV and it looked pretty good. Not a single complaint! It does exactly what I need it to do! The signal is great! I have the camera upstairs and I am able to take it all around our 1700 sq ft. townhome without interference. Plus we can take it outside and almost walk around the building without interference... there are 6 townhomes/building if that helps!!! Good luck with your decision, I know I personally really like this unit!
OK system, but not as primary baby monitor
After 10months with this system and an extra camera, here are my comments.
PROS:
+ The picture and sound quality is pretty good
+ The range is OK within a medium-sized house - signal is strong until it breaks altogether
+ No interference with wifi (and I have a lot of it)
+ Multi-voltage power supplies so we could use them on our travels overseas without worrying about voltage adaptors
+ Hooks up to TV/ video very nicely - I connected it to a video capture card and piped the video through my home security system which worked really well.
+ Night vision is pretty good for the range of the camera
CONS:
- Menu design is retarded - meaningless options and no way to tell what's selected
- the light has an on/ off switch that does nothing (it's always on).
- Sound circuitry must have a threshold to trigger it as it turns off to save power. This is not a problem if it kicks in reliably - but it DOESN'T. We have heard our babies crying through the wall and the monitor is silent for ages, until it finally wakes up.
- Camera angle of view is very narrow. I had to build a pole to put it on so that I could see the whole crib from above. Now the twins are in separate cribs, the camera is across the room in the opposite ceiling corner. Nowhere left to go when they start getting out of their beds.
- the night vision uses a circle of red LEDS (infrared?) to illuminate the room for its night vision - they're pretty unobtrusive, but there's a back lit button on top that's really bright and won't turn off (see light switch comment above).
Overall, the technology exists to make this an awesome product. However, they seem to have taken shortcuts to cut production costs that greatly compromise this.
If you're looking for looking to pair this with a DECT monitor that has reliable sound and use this to visually make sure your baby isn't in trouble, it's fine, if a bit expensive. If you're wanting just one unit, though, you should get a reliable audio monitor instead.
Elder Care monitoring - GREAT range !!
I'm one of those "baby boomers" caring for an elderly parent now...my baby monitoring days are over. Finding a good system that will work when the parent is in a different house isn't easy. Mom lives in the house right next door to us....about 35 feet away. Still, most baby monitors won't work if the "range" is obstructed. I talked to ADT security which has wonderful systems...if you want to spend several thousand dollars. I tried another baby monitor which didn't work....so started looking into larger systems from Lorex. I had it narrowed down to two, each with 4 wireless cameras and DVR/Internet box, etc. Then this portable monitor caught my eye. After reading the reviews I was certain it wouldn't work. But I decided that returning things to Amazon.com is so easy I had nothing to lose. I'm so glad I decided to try it !!! I'm thrilled with it !!! The camera portion is now sitting in Mom's living room..about 45 feet from the front of our home. The monitor is next to me....in my bedroom which is on the second floor of our home. Mom's house is a double....the "other side" is empty and is the side that is between Mom and our home !! So we're most definately NOT unobstructed !!! I have a dual network router in our home as well as two cordless phone systems. As I walk through the house holding the monitor, I WILL lose the signal on occasion...or get "low signal" message. But I'm amazed that it doesn't happen in many areas of my home. I'm going to take the camera I have and try it in two other places in Mom's house. If it works in those areas as well, I'll be ordering two more cameras. So don't always trust negative reviews !!! If you like the product and are at all curious...TRY IT !!! Amazon makes returns painless....printable shipping labels, postal service pickup.....very easy. As for this baby monitor...I'll be sleeping so much better tonight knowing I can check on my Mother at 2:00 in the morning if I feel the need. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the sound, which is "tinny" but has great volume. The picture is great, considering the distance between camera and monitor. It upgrades to 4 cameras and has a built in alarm.
We really like this monitor
so, the only problem we have had with this monitor is if it is not attached to the base, the battery seems to die relatively quickly- definitely needs to be attached at night, or it might die in the middle of the night and you would never know it since it doesn't beep or otherwise let you know before it turns itself off - as long as it's attached to the base, it's been fine. Also when traveling we had problems in one house with being too far from the base with low signal at certain angles but after playing around with it we were able to get it to work, and everywhere else we've been it's been fine (even upstairs, etc.). We have not had a problem with only hearing noises above a certain volume as others have complained about- it turns on with very quiet noises, not just loud crying, and I don't think anyone can stay awake to listen to breathing sounds all night (as a pediatrician, I really think it would alert you to any noise that might signal a concern.) It has no interference, and you don't have to worry about privacy and seeing into other babies cribs at night! Overall, we've been very happy.

Customer Reviews
excellent baby monitor - worth every penny!I read many reviews on many products and decided to purchase the zopid interference free monitor system. It was a very smart decision on my part. Not only is it very user friendly, have a lot of options (including many different zoom views), but the clarity on the screen for BOTH day and night vision is excellent, the audio is SO much better than my existing Graco audio monitor system. The Graco system is always on - with this system, it only flashes on when there is either motion or audio detection (both very sensitive). So, my monitor next to my bed is virtually silent unless our baby makes noise. I also keep a sound machine on in the room while she sleeps and the system is smart enough to know that this is a constant and it doesn't alert me unless there's another noise. I set the video screen feature to 60 seconds - that way, it saves the battery life. Most of the time, it remains plugged in, so I've not had any issues with the battery life. I figure I don't need to have the monitor on all the time, so I set it to 60 seconds, which seems to be plenty of time - if I want to check on her, I just click on any of the side buttons and the screen comes to life. The bracket to mount the monitor is very easy to use. Also, the handheld device is very lightweight, which is a feature that I appreciate - who wants to carry around a 10 pound handheld monitor? The clip on the back is very useful, too. I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good video/audio monitor system that is priced well and is reliable, easy to use, and has a lot of sweet features.
Great Monitor!
I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this baby monitor and was a little hesitant to purchase this one from a company I wasn't familiar with (Who is Hi-Tech Trading (U.S.A)?). And to be honest I wasn't reassured when the product showed up - the units are surprisingly lightweight, the monitor is large compared to the monitor, and the physical design seems dated in the ipod era. The manual looks like it was designed in WordPerfect '95. Then I turned it on and realized how wrong I was - this is the best video monitor I could have hoped for and warrants me getting up to write a review and urge all you shoppers to save your time and buy this product! Here are my key monitor criteria and how the product fared:
- Video and audio quality: Very good, it surpassed my expectations and showed no visible interference, snow, static, or hissing.
- Range: Excellent, again surpassed my expectations. This one is hard to judge from the advertisements and surely equally hard for the manufacturer to describe. How far will the range be? Well it depends on any interference issues, walls, floors, building materials, etc. I live in a larger than average (3500 sq ft.) two story house, and the nursery is in a corner of the house on the second floor. The reception is excellent everywhere in the house, and even outside. I've never noticed the video even flicker or hesitate in the house.
- Interference: No interference noticed with my 2.4 GHz wifi setup. How does it do this so well when it seems like so many things do have noticeable interference in this band? The mysterious advertised frequency hopping baffles me but it works!
- Night vision: Works as described. Plenty of light to look across a crib with the camera. Does a great job of switching form night to daylight mode automatically.
- Controls: Volume buttons on the receiver. Don't bother buying a monitor without this function. This also turns the video on when it is sleeping due to no sound. The menu is full functioned with options and settings but also simple and easy to use without the helpful (but spartan-looking) manual. It has a digital zoom feature that may be useful and can zoom at the corners of the image also. Not tested, but apparently has easy integration of additional cameras and volume buttons can be substituted as camera change buttons.
- VOX: Amazing! If you leave the receiver unplugged you'll want to have the video turn off when your baby is still and quiet, but turn on when he/she makes any noise. This works great, and even has a visual volume indicator so you can see how loud it is even if you have the volume low or muted. Somehow it can even tell when I have white noise on (lapping waves of an ocean for example) and doesn't turn the video on for that, but as soon as baby gurgles it flips on. How does it do it? Again, beats me but it sure works well!
- Battery life: Exceeds advertised length in my experience with voice activated video.
- Privacy: I can't test this one, but since the frequency hopping that is supposed to prevent interference and ensure privacy prevents interference so well I'll give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt and assume it is secure.
- Others: No annoying lights, plenty of volume, apparently good customer support.
What else is important in a video monitor? I can't think of anything. If you want a monitor that looks futuristic to impress your friends (without turning it on) you could probably find a better monitor but if you just want one that works without thinking about it do yourself a favor and buy this one.
ZOpid Digital Interference-free Audio & Video Baby Monitor Mediocre
Quick and Dirty - Why did I give this product 3 stars:
What's Bad About This Product
1.) POOR VIDEO QUALITY: The picture is no where near as clear as my cheap, 3yr old baby monitor. In-fact, you can barely tell what's going on on the screen because it's so pixelated.
2.) POOR COLOR: The color on the cameras is completely washed out. It might as well be black & white.
3.) SERVICE FAILURE: I've had to reset the system a number of times. This means that each time the system has lost its connection, my child has not been properly monitored until I discovered the problem, and fixed the system.
4.) BATTERY FAILURE: The battery on the monitor or "base" will not hold a charge for more than an hour or so. You have to leave it plugged in to a power source all the time. Same thing goes for the cameras especially if they're on night-mode.
5.) SHORT CABLES: The power cords are way too short for the cameras. I had to buy and install an electrical extension cord for each camera just to get it to a nearby power outlet.
6.) PROPRIETARY MOUNTING HARDWARE: The cameras do not have a base to allow you to put them on a table. The cameras have a mounting system, but it's proprietary (you have to drill holes and screw it into something to hold it up -- it doesn't have that standard "eyelet" hook on the camera that you can just hang onto a picture frame hook or a nail)
What's Good About This Product
1.) You can put up to 8 cameras onto the sytem and monitor them all, either manually or with an "auto-shift" mode that goes from camera to camera every so many seconds.
2.) The base monitor supports powering/charging via USB (handy).
3.) The company seems OK.
4.) The audio detection and playback through the monitor is very good. It doesn't bother you unless there is a legitimate noise, and then the camera comes to life so you can attempt to see what's going on.
5.) Truly no interference (no crackling, no buzzing, no picture wavering) even in a large house (monitor on the 1st floor, cameras on the 2nd)
6.) Improved privacy over old-school monitoring systems (less chance someone is watching your baby from another monitor)
7.) Support firmware updates to the software on the monitor (requires technical proficiency)
Terrible Product!!!!!
Please, if you are considering this monitor buy something else. We purchased this monitor for our two children to have one in each room. Not only does the monitor just shut off for no reason, sometimes it won't even turn on. The camera in my son's room barely picks up sound and the one in my daughter's room loses the connection constantly. Sometimes I wake up and there is no feed to her room and she is crying and I have no idea!!!! I hate this monitor, I had Sommer monitor before this and it lasted 3 years with no problems, we just neede feed to two rooms and unfortunately bought this system. If I can prevent just ONE person from buying this monitor, I will feel better. If it wasn't so much money, I would have thrown it out the window a long time ago!!! As I am typing this, I lost the feed to my daughter's room!!! Terrible, terrible terrible product!!!!!
Just to add a note, I sent the monitor back to be "fixed" and it was returned still unusable. When I called the customer service line, I was told to ship it again for a replacement. I was concerned because I have been without a monitor for my two children for over a week, and the representative told me I shouldn't be using a monitor to take care of my children. Very inappropriate response and a horrible product. Now it will be almost another week before I have peace of mind when I sleep at night. Needless to say, it's been terrible sleeping without it.
Great Product, Outstanding Customer Service
I have been using this product for almost a year now and would purchase another one today if I had to. I am actually going back and adding this comment due to the latest customer service received. I recently had to contact customer service concerning a warranty issue. I was sent an RMA number with instructions and information about the return. To my surprise the turnaround was about a week. I received a new monitor as well as new firmware on both cameras and monitor. I took everything out of the box and it was already setup for use. How easy was that! My method of contact was via email and the responses were very timely and professional. I had actually contacted this company a while back asking about a personal issue I had with the unit and was told that it would be addressed in the next firmware. Yeah right I said. I've heard that one before. Again to my surprise, the new firmware had addressed the issue. How unbelievably awesome is that!! It's so odd to find a company with this level of customer service so I'm still a little blown away. How could you not recommend this product. I think it recommends itself, given the chance.
