Great monitor!!We bought this monitor after reviewing/researching several brands! Love this monitor!!!! Quit looking...buy this one!
Good video Monitor
Works great, have wireless phones and a wi-fi network hub that is between the camera and monitor and it work's w/o interference. Sound works good, and turning on the lullaby remotely is a good tool to use. Don't like that the audio cuts off if there is minimal sound. The whole unit goes mute until a sound is loud enough to trigger it and with the delay of the speaker kicking in, who knows what audio source actually tripped the speaker. Speaker isn't loud, keep that in mind for the hearing impaired. A lot of the audio-only devices are LOUD, this one...not so much.
We've had this thing for about a month, works like a champ. Keep in mind the decreased audio may be because we have the camera kinda far away to get a wide angle. We bought this for the "big girl bed" in the event she got up and around the safety bar.
It's okay when it works, while it worked
The main reason I purchase this monitor was for it's interference free feature, but that's about the only thing that really worked. The moment we received this monitor and test it, we noticed already that the sound comes in and out. Since we cannot find this at any of our local stores, we decide to live with it since we only use it for naps (our baby's crib is in our room).
So basically our video monitor only has video but not reliable sound, and then after a couple months, the video started to go too. The video quality got so bad I can hardly make out my baby's face! I called Levana support and the operator sounded like she did not believe the video quality has problems, told me a couple of times that I need APPROVAL FROM THEM before I can pay for the shipping to send it back and wait up to 6 weeks for them to test it. I asked them what am I gonna do without a baby monitor for 6 weeks, and they basically told me it was my problem. Soon after that, even the poor quality video went in and out. So we gave up and pay another $200 for a new summer infant bestview monitor and call our internet provider to reroute the cable so to minimize the interference with our wireless router. We're extremely happy with the summer infant monitor, the sound quality is excellent and we love that we can remote control the camera and zoom to look for our baby without going in her room. (she rolls around a lot!)
I read some really good reviews of this product before I made the purchase, and I believe that had I got one that works, I'll be quite happy too. So buyers be warned, if you buy this and has problems, you'll need to get approval, pay for shipping, purchase an additional monitor while you wait for them to test it and decide whether they are going to fix the alleged problem. All in all I think this is quite a risky choice.
Disappointed
I bought this monitor because of the great reviews and am very disappointed. The video feature is great, I like the added music feature and the battery life is great HOWEVER - the audio quality is TERRIBLE. My son is 3 weeks old and still sleeping in our room so it hasn't been a huge issue, but unless he's blue in the face screaming, the audio monitor won't pick it up. If he's down for a nap during the day, my first indication that he's awake is that I can see him moving in the video and his mouth is open or I can hear him down the hall (but not on the monitor). When it does pick up sound it goes in and out and doesn't hold the sound. I can't put him to sleep in his room overnight b/c I'm worried I won't hear him until he's hysterical...I haven't tried to return this yet, but i hope amazon makes it an easy process.
COLOMBIA -CALIFICIACION PRODUCTO

MobiCam AV Baby Monitor: Extra Camera

Customer Reviews
Go Digital**I am posting this review in several places since you can purchase the monitor and extra camera separately or as a set.**
We have had the Mobicam Ultra for a couple of years for our daughter and decided to get this new system when our son was born so that we could monitor both rooms using just the one monitor. The monitor itself has two stations and each camera gets one station. When you set the monitor to scan these it flips back and forth about every 10 seconds between the two cameras so that you can see/hear what is going on in each room.
PROS:
*Does allow you to monitor two rooms at once (not simultaneously but scans on it's own). Not all multicamera systems out there do this, they can only monitor one room at a time.
*Decent sound and video quality.
CONS:
*The ability to choose between VOX mode and camera mode is on the camera itself which means going into baby's room to make the switch, rather defeating the purpose of the monitor. The Ultra had this setting on the monitor so I could keep it on voice activation mode all the time and then switch over real quick if I just wanted to make sure she was still in bed etc. This was a big deal for me because when I switched to camera mode in the Ultra I was even able to hear her breathing and feel reassured that she was OK. With the AV, when you set it in camera mode there was (for us) static that I did not want to listen to all the time. Same is the case with the Ultra but since the setting is on the monitor I would just switch back to VOX once I knew all was well and not have to listen to the static.
*The volume dial on the AV does not have numbers as the Ultra did. With the Ultra I knew I wanted the volume at 3 or 4 but without the benefit of numbers on the AV it's a guessing game as to how loud it's going to be when she makes a noise.
*Lots of interference/static. There was static each time the scan switched the channel and sometimes just random static while on one channel.
*The kicker, and ultimately why we had to return the item... we could see and hear another baby. I live in a free standing house and the nearest baby to me is across a wide street and down a house so I assumed that was the baby I was seeing however I have now spoken with everyone on my block that has a baby in a crib and none of them have a video monitor so I have no idea whose baby I was seeing. My best guess is that it's someone from one block over, behind my across the street neighbors. That's pretty far away and even Mobi was surprised when I told them I thought I was seeing the baby just across the street. FYI, Mobi also indicated that the interference and static I experienced was probably due to this other monitor so perhaps others would not have as much interference as I did.
We decided to get a digital instead (which incidentally is also what Mobi suggested). We didn't get the Mobi digital because my first issue above is still the case with that system. So far I like the digital (even though it's more expensive) MUCH better than both the monitors I refer to above.
Works great!
I bought this so I could see both my daughter's rooms at night and it works great! There is nothing I would change about this extra camera. On the system overall I would change that it makes a little noise as it switches back and forth, it's not much, but with it switching rooms every 5 seconds or so that means every 5 seconds I hear a little sound. I can sleep through it now, but it was a bit bothersome for the first few days. The volume of the switch sound is the same as the volume you have it set for, if that makes sense? If you like a loud volume on your monitor, then the switch sound will be loud as well. But otherwise works great! I can see the girls great with the night vision setting and it doesn't make their rooms too bright. Very clear!

Am not too impressedToo much interference...only a 14 day return window...the main unit doesn't have a power plug in(have to use batteries). Eats up batteries quickly. Does have good picture when it your are close to the camera unit.
Don't waste your money
We bought this because of the multi-camera function since we have twins. This is a total waste of money. We had originally ordered the Levana Babyview 20 video monitor but returned it because it doesn't have the ability to connect multiple cameras. Having tried that one out I can tell you that it is a MUCH better product! The sound is much clearer, there is no interference, set up is simple and it actually has a clear picture.
The cons of the SVAT were:
1) It is not 'color' as advertised. I never saw a bit of color on the screen.
2) There is a ton of interference even when our wireless router was turned off. Rolling lines on the screen accompanied by a clicking sound which is exceptionally obnoxious, especially at night. This happens each time it switches between cameras and each time anything comes near the handheld unit.
3) It does not have a sensor which switches it to night vision. You must switch a tiny little switch on the camera. Imagine trying to do this in the dark if you accidentally forgot to do it before puting baby down for the night.
4) The night vision doesn't work well at all. Compared to the Levana Babyview, it is horrible! The Levana could see all the way across the room and was still clear. This is hardly visible from 2 ft. away. One of the cameras (we ordered an extra one seperately) seemed better than the other.
5) The handheld unit is huge and awkward and made out of a cheap plastic which doesn't seem durable at all.
6) The cameras might be fine once they were mounted, but they are also made out of a cheap, lightweight plastic and won't stay put unless they're mounted in place.
7) The instructions are very confusing. When setting up the channels on the handheld unit, down is 'on' and up is 'off' so it took a while to even figure out how to get a picture out of both cameras.
8) In order to use the handheld unit without the ac adaptor, you have to remove the back cover and take out the batteries.
9) The battery life in the handheld unit was horrible! I think they lasted about 2 hours.
10) Before playing with the 3 channels, this totally blocked our wireless router.
The pros were:
1) Price.
2) Ability to add additional cameras.
All in all, I would definitely spend a little more money and get something that works.
Works as advertized - excellent product for travel as well
I work in the intelligence field and I got this to monitor my children downstairs while I'm upstairs in my office. For the price and plug-&-view - this is a great product. I have CCTV security system for my residence - but this little gem can be taken anywhere. Plug in while at a hotel - park your car outside your window - and monitor it while you're in your room. It's versatile to say the least. Shop around for the best price. Glad I got it - it has come in handy alot!
Satisfied
The Video is high quality but there is substantial interferance which creates alot of static in the audio and some static in the video. I was impressed with the quality of the night vision.
Disappointing product that could be a lot better
The bad: Terrible range, lots of static in picture and audio, green LEDs way too bright (receiver lights up our bedroom even when video screen is off). And the biggie - it works on the same frequency as pretty much all consumer Wifi routers which means we have to unplug both cameras in order to use our wireless internet, *every* morning. Oh, and the monitor stand is very unstable - I usually lay it on its side. Smooth stuff. They're about 2 iterations away from a great product.
The good: The three available operating modes are nice. Night vision works well for us but we have the cameras really close to the cribs (twins). Sound alarm is nice since the actual audio has static (we turn the ambient audio off and just listen for the alarm).
Overall... wait for it... lame. I'll give it a solid "C". Better than nothing, but I'd recommend trying something else.
Now where's my receipt...

Super Clear but Screen & Sound Black Out in middle of the nightOk - This one was a little bit hard for me to rate. I have an older baby monitor that has been excellent and is not digital. It has lasted through 1 child but they no longer make batteries for it so it was time to upgrade to digital for baby number 2 and add a second camera so we could still keep an eye on our toddler upstairs. When we received our camera & monitor we had a hard time setting it up so we called customer service & they walked us through it with no problem. By the 2nd night we kept losing the signal to our second camera so we called them and they had us reprogram the cameras. We continued to lose the signal (which means you have NO working camera). Finally the entire system went black. We called again and they replaced our entire purchase with new equipment. Once again we installed the cameras but continued to lose the signal especially when rotating between 2 cameras. With a new born "sound" is the most important feature to me. When we would lose the signal in the middle of the night the camera would black out and unless you woke up to notice this you wouldn't even know you had no sound or camera. The baby would be crying & wake us, but no sound was coming through the monitor. Once again we called & expressed our frustration -we were told if we had a lap top or a cell phone in the same room that would interfere with the reception. I THOUGHT DIGITAL was suppose to have NO interferrence. NOT TRUE!I have had this equipment for 2 months and still don't always have clear sound (imagine a cell phone with bad reception)it cuts in and out often. I moved the newborn into my bed for now and the toddler is old enough to call out to us if she needs something. We spent a lot of money to have a system that works 1/2 of the time. Customer service was great, but the product needs improving. BTW - Our cameras are 15 feet from the monitor and 50 feet and we have the same issue with both of them.
Zopid Camera Add On
This camera works great. We have a baby that for health reasons we need to be able to closely monitor, we have tried four other baby monitors the only one that came close to being a keeper was the Mobi. The camera on that one has a rotating lens and you can get every angle and the picture was great, however it and all of the had horrible intereference. I gave this camera a four because you have to rotate the entire unit as it is attached to the metal base. Not great if you don't want to permanently mount it. It is also a little harder to get all angles. But overall great and I have ordered an additional camera. Also, they are working on an outdoor camera that should be available by November so I should be able to add on and use to monitor the pool outside.

Not ImpressedWe bought this camera system to replace a broken Summer Video camera in anticipation of a new born coming in August. We placed one camera in Toddlers room and attempted to view the monitor in the master bedroom - no more than 25' away. The video signal worked for a minute then cut out. I turned on the 2nd camera to see if that fixed the problem and it does seem to help maintain the signal but it still cuts out throughout the night.
We do have wireless networking setup in the house and have changed that to use channel 11 so interference shouldn't be the problem. Overall this unit has weak wireless signal, prone to interference, and the picture quality is lacking. It works, yes and it does have some nice features but with the problems identified above I give it 3 stars.
No Wi-Fi worries with this monitor!!!
We recently bought this monitor for our two little boys. We really wanted to go digital and drop our old static-plagued a/v monitor. After researching many of the other popular brands, we found that nearly every one clashed with Wi-Fi due to their 2.4 GHz. The Home Sentry by Safe Baby does NOT have this problem. We have 2 cameras operating ALL the time and have NEVER lost our Wi-Fi connection or baby monitor picture/sound. The auto switching feature is VERY useful too. It automatically switches back and forth from one room to the other. It even has night vision and a pretty good zoom feature! It's pretty easy to use right out of the box since the seller registers both the included camera and the extra one prior to shipping. We are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend the Home Sentry monitor by Safe Baby to anyone looking for a problem free unit.
Eye on Dad
As I sit typing this review, I'm watching my father stirring in bed and , wait . . . no. He fell back asleep! Without this monitor, I would have been in that room checking on him. My father has advanced Alzheimer's and is in a dangerous place in that he is still strong enough to get out of bed or a chair to walk around by himself, but he is weak and his balance worsening, which means that he falls very easily. Because of that, he needs practically one on one care to ensure his safety. As the only caregiver he has, I was losing my mind just trying to use the bathroom without worrying about him getting up and falling. I received this unit in the mail two days ago and I can't begin to tell you how much calmer I am! Now I don't have to run in when I hear a noise on my old audio only monitor. I'm constantly glancing at the monitor and am finding true peace of mind in knowing exactly what Daddy is doing.
I have one camera in his bedroom and one in the living room where he spends much time. But I love the portability and the ability to put a camera in the sun porch, or on the back porch. There's still a lot of work involved with him, but I'm less stressed in general, so I feel that I have more energy to spend on Daddy and more patience with him, which benefits both of us. I thank God that we had the money to buy this.
All the components worked perfectly out of the box. The quality is great, both video and audio, and the infrared is AWESOME! I highly recommend this product to any elder caregiver.
Great Baby Video Monitoring System
I purchased this system for my son and daughter-in-law who were expecting twins. I didn't want to purchase two 1-camera video monitoring systems and have them deal with two different monitors. I researched and reviewed many products, but the Safe Baby Home Sentry system was the best system I could find at a reasonable price that included two cameras and one monitor.
I am extremely happy with this product and so are my son and daughter-in-law. This is a fantastic system. The night vision is great, and there is absolutely no interference with in-home WiFi computer or phone connectivity.
The video monitor picture is clear and so is the sound - no static or interference. The video monitor can be set to automatically switch camera views at 5, 10 or 15-second intervals. We learned that 5 seconds was too quick, and 15 seconds was too long; so we use the 10-second interval. Each camera has its own mic and can pick up the sounds of each Grandchild.
The twins are now two months old and sleeping in their own beds. I do Night Nanny duty twice a week, and I keep the video monitor by the bed and can see and hear how each Grandchild is doing at all times.
Highly recommend this system. It's a great value. My son and daughter-in-law wouldn't be without it.
Everything that could go wrong did go wrong
First of all, I am not even sure the product I received was new as the camera lenses were already scratched, but that was the least of my problems. Per the instructions, upon opening the boxes, I imediately plugged everything in and left it to charge overnight. In the morning, I turned everything on and could not have been more disapointed. First of all, the monitor would not pick up a signal from either camera. The manual does not include any troubleshooting ideas so other than double checking that things were set up correctly, I was pretty much at a loss. After turning the monitor on and off a few times, Camera 1 finaly picked up a signal. The picture was clear but it was not a real time image. It almost seemed like the camera was taking still pictures every few seconds. The audio was also delayed and echoed. Frustrated, I left it all to charge some more and walked away. Throughout the day I turned everything on a few more times. It was pretty random what I would get. Sometimes I would pick up Camera 2, which seemed to be working perfectly, but then I wouldn't get Camera 1. I never did pick up a signal from both cameras at the same time. Total lemon. I sent it back and bought the Summer Sleek and Secure and could not be more thrilled - but that's for another revieew!
All that being said - the Seller was WONDERFUL. Since the manual did not include troubleshooting, I called the number provided on the invoice. They called me back within just a couple of hours. They were friendly and understanding. They would have helped me troubleshoot, but I was pretty turned off that for this kind of money it didn't work straight out of the box. I returned the monitor and received a refund very promptly. So, 5 Stars for the seller, The Pegasus Shop!

Can I use a wireless camera as a baby monitor? | Ask Owen
Sounds like a noble design. We have a baby of 3 months, and I call to mind an account I would be qualified to see and pay attention to it. I would say that more than common sense delicate baby monitor is also serious. No video clips I have left upright. At least you can assist breathing. The baby may look serene, but not breathing. Fantasy perceptive, but both go for video (and audio)!
