There are a lot of carriers out there - but the Bjorn works for us!I think selecting a carrier was the hardest baby product decision we made, including a three baby bathtub debacle and two swing nightmare ;)! To whit, we own three carriers now, including a catbird baby/pikkolo carrier, mostly for facing inward (this carrier also allows other positions, but the material didn't allow for as comfortable a ride as the bjorn), a sling that was made for us (which I can never get settled correctly on me alone) and this bjorn (which honestly - I bought used at a local baby consignment store).
Our baby has always been hugely curious about the world. He literally chafed at being carried face-in and was constantly trying to turn to look out, as young as just a few weeks old. Several other wonderful carriers don't really allow the facing out position (cough...Ergo...cough) like this one does. Now, to be fair, I can see how our baby is going to grow out of this bjorn by around 8-10 months. But, who cares? We are in bliss now. At 5 months, he will walk around in the bjorn for more than an hour happily looking around and experiencing the world. I can put this on and put him in easily by myself. It's great for walking our dog, going to the mall or a museum, dancing around the house, sitting together for short periods, etc. I don't find that it's super easy to do a lot of tasks with my hands in this, since I have a large infant obstructing my view, but no matter - it's a great time together with him in the bjorn.
So, bottom line, I think you need to know your baby a little to select the right carrier. Do they want to be snuggled in with you all the time, face in? Do they want to look out all the time, even if you might prefer they snuggle facing in with you? I suggest going by a retailer that allows you to try them on, then purchasing the one you want on Amazon or on consignment (if you can find it), where the prices are lower. Once you see what your baby prefers, these carriers will be your new best friend.
A must have!!
This is the number one best item I purchased before my baby arrived, I cannot imagine what I would do without it! I was blessed with a healthy, beautiful, but somewhat "high needs" daughter. For the first 3 months of her life she has only been happy being held or, for very brief periods sitting in her BabyBjorn baby sitter chair. This carrier is the only thing that allowes me to get anything done around the house. The unexpected benefit of this item was that my baby also suffered from moderate colic for about 3-4 weeks. Every night from 5pm - 10pm her crying was almost incessant. Putting her in her carrier and walking her around the block was the only thing that would sooth her and stop the crying. The bonus is that she invariably falls asleep within 15 minutes of being strapped in. Even now that the colic is gone I still use this item at least once a day and usually much much more.
I had also researched the Moby wrap, but chose this because I thought it looked easier to get baby into and more secure. I was right, once you've done it once or twice, baby can be securely strapped in in less than 2 minutes. And I can still get her out while she's fast asleep without waking her if I'm a little more careful than usual. The other reasons I chose this, after reading several reviews is that it is generously sized. The straps extend quite a bit so it will fit larger framed people, which both my husband and I are. I'm a 5' 10' size 20 mom and it fits me easily, the straps still have a few inches left to be let out if needed.
The only negative I have is that the carrier body is made of rather thick neoprine type material which can get very very hot in summer months. A couple of times I took my baby out becuase she got very red faced and a little over heated, but we have no air conditioning and it only happened twice when it was exceptionally hot.
All in all, I cannot recommend this product highly enough, it has been an absolute life saver for me!
Not convenient at all
I am not sure why people recommend this carrier so much.
Even when my baby was a month old I found it extremely uncomfortable to carry him as it hurt my back.
My baby is taller than average. Taking a newborn in and out of this thing is a task in itself.
I would not recommend this product to anyone, there must be other carriers that do a better job.
Good for colic
Hi. Love this sling. Tip: when facing baby out, you can put a bib through the arm holes and have it drape over the top. Easy to change out and give baby a fresh place to drool. We put my son in after he eats. He usually burps and it helps with the acid reflux to have him upright. He enjoys going out for walks in it as he can touch and feel the flowers and objects I bring close to him. Good idea to have an umbrella handy for walks as there is not the shade that strollers provide. It can also turn into a baby OVEN fairly quickly, so I use the stroller when it's warm out. Another tip, when baby is in the sling, I eat or do things in front of a large mirror. It keeps him entertained.
If You're Large-Chested, Find Something Else
I bought the Baby Bjorn mainly to use when I was on maternity leave so I could get some things done. My car seat turned out to be way too heavy to drag around for errands, and some stores don't have buggies or aisles wide enough for strollers. My baby was also one of those who cried pretty much every time she was put down and never slept longer than 30 minutes, and I really needed to find a way to get some laundry and dishes washed every once in a while. I tried a pouch sling, but I returned it after 2 uses - I felt like the baby couldn't breathe - sure enough, that style was recalled a few weeks later for that very problem.
The Bjorn was a decent alternative, but really wasn't fast, convenient, or well-fitting enough for me. I would probably try something different the next time. I still give it three stars because I think this would be a great carrier for a man, but I couldn't get my husband to use it.
Pros:
1. Well made: very secure, nicely padded, easy to clean
2. Easy to understand & use the clips & fasteners
3. Baby loved it & usually fell asleep in it until she became very alert @ 8-10 weeks, then she enjoyed the view
4. I felt much better about the baby's ability to breathe in this than the pouch sling I had previously.
Cons:
1. Awkward to maneuver baby into
2. Back pain - I pinched a nerve in my back the 2nd time wearing this when the baby was only 10 lbs. and I'm still getting twinges 4 months later. (And I was wearing it properly according to the directions).
3. Because the carrier rides so high on the chest, it is not great for large-busted women. It was ok when the baby was forward-facing. She liked snuggling there, but when I turned her around @ 4 months, it wasn't comfortable for me and I didn't feel she was quite secure enough because my chest was against her butt or back and pushing her out too far from me.
4. Baby occasionally spit up from the pressure of my chest on her tummy (she rarely spit up out of the carrier).

Hard to Correctly Position an InfantI'm sure most new parents and parents-to-be have read or heard about the CPSC warnings regarding positional asphyxiation of babies in slings. This is precisely the type of sling they are warning about. This sling has a deep pouch that is not adjustable making it very difficult to correctly position a newborn or small baby. The picture of the woman in orange holding the baby in this sling is showing an incorrect position!!!! This baby could suffocate in this curled position with his head to his chest. The baby is also so low on the mother it would not be comfortable for her shoulders or back. A baby should always be able to be placed upright, tummy-to-tummy in a sling and should always be well above the wearer's bellybutton close enough to be kissed! I love wearing my baby, but always do so safely and would never purchase a sling like this. If you want to wear your baby in a sling, buy a good ring sling (like a Maya or Ellaroo) and makes sure to search for online resources on how to correctly position your child. Good ring slings have a shoulder that can be spread for the mother's comfort and have no elastic or gatherings on the rails that would make it hard to adjust the depth of the pouch (though they may have lightly padded rails for baby's comfort). Please buy a good, safe sling for your baby and take the time to learn to use it. These cheaper slings look inviting and some look easy to use, but they are dangerous, difficult to use, and uncomfortable!
An easy to use Sling
My son who is now 22lbs and 9 months has lived in this sling. I didn't plan on using it this long, but he loves it. With our daugther we loved the Bjorn, but our son cries everytime we put him in it. He feels very secure in this sling. It does take awhile to figure out how to place on your shoulder for comfort, and how to arrange the baby in different positions. But once you have the hang of it, it is a very comfortable sling. I have worn our very heavy baby at Disney, without any problems. At nine months I put him on my hip, and he likes the security of being close. As a newborn it was so easy to use, I often wore it to restaurants, he would sleep, and my hands were free to enjoy dinner. It fits so easy in the diaperbag, and washes well. I will now be sad to see him outgrow the sling, we have enjoyed it so much.
Sooooo Uncomfortable for Mommy and for Baby!
This sling is really uncomfortable, both for mom and for baby. I kept trying to figure it out, thinking that I must be doing something wrong because it was just so uncomfortable. I had the right size, and I kept going back to the instructions to try to figure it out. Finally my husband said, "Stop trying! Use your other carriers!". I love my two other carriers... very comfortable for me and my baby falls asleep in them. With the New Native, he would scream and cry as I tried to shove him in, and then once he was in there he looked all contorted and his neck was bent in a funny way. I could wear it for about 5 minutes and then it felt like it was digging into my shoulder and the weight was unevenly distributed for my back. There are some really awesome carriers and slings out there-- I recommend getting a different brand for your own comfort, and for the well-being of your baby.
Love it!
This sling is fantastic! I started using it when my daughter was about 10lbs. Her previous sling was padded by the edges started to smush her head. The New Native website has a lot of videos to show you how to put the sling on - at first it does feel strange. I also needed a blanket underneath my daughter. They are in a curved position in the sling. To prevent their face from being covered - you need to fold it at the shoulder. If your back hurts with it - you are probably wearing the wrong size. It makes such a difference to try it on with baby because if it's too low it will be extremely uncomfortable. My daughter is now 9 months old and I am going to start trying the new ways to carry her. This is a must buy!
Sometimes hepful
Is not as great as I thought. I got it so I could nurse descreetly but it never worked. Do use it occasionally used it for carrying him around and it is very easy to pack and use in a pinch.

New DayI collect vinyl and I found this record one day. It became a favorite and so I sent for it on CD so I could play it where there was no turntable. The Kings Singers are terrific and they chose a wonderful group of songs. I like the variety of styles. They are so versatile, keeping it interesting. I particularly enjoy "New Day" and "The Gambler."
Great sound and great song!
I loved the song "A New Day" after hearing it on the radio. I tracked it down and ordered the CD. All the songs are terrific.
Along with the Good Vibrations are my favorites
Own it! It's all worth it!
"You are the new day" is my personal favorite song.
My dad loves it
If he likes it then I am happy. Not my cup of tea. I like the idea that there where some Beatles tunes. Dad is 57 I am 36 might be the difference in age. NOt sure. Just not my cup of tea
Great Album!
I was very amazed when I first heard this album. Their sound is like no other. They are so unique that you can't compare them to other acapella groups.
I can say that their sound is better than a mixed choir because even though the King's Singers is only composed of 6 members. Their sound volume can beat a 30 member choir due to the quality of their voice.
My favorite is "It Was Almost Like A Song" because of the countertenor's very light voice. The baritone part was also awesome as he dominated the scene when he took the melody.
Overall, great album. This has to be one of the King's Singers best albums released. All songs are great that you can't resist missing a moment on listening it.

The most useful baby item we own! These slings have been an essential part of being parents. Both my husband and I use New Native slings on a daily basis. We've been 'wearing' our daughter since day one and continue to now that she is three months. This helped me tremendously in getting to 'know' my baby. It allows me to be responsive immediately to her needs because I can read her cues before she gets to a full blown cry. It helps me accomplish tasks around the house and makes shopping/running errands easy. We do not even own the detachable infant carseats. I cannot imagine having to lug one of those things around! I feel like this had helped her transition from her womb environment to the outside world. It gives her a sense of security even in new situations. Unlike front facing carriers, she can turn her head into our chests if she feels insecure or overstimulated. There are endless benefits to 'wearing' your baby and I feel like this sling has made it incredibly easy for me and my husband to do so. There are no buckles or rings or fasteners, just slide it on.
If at first you don't succeed, try again later. It may be more comfortable for you and baby at a different stage. Another tip, get moving! The motion is what soothes babies and brings them comfort.
Again, baby wearing is such a wonderful thing. I suggest you read up on the benefits and find a sling/carrier that works well for you.
We recommend this one to all new parents and have never had anyone complain!
amazing
I have used this carrier for three children now. It is great. My husband can even wear it. My fourth child is only a month old. I never take his car seat out of the car. ONe of us carries the baby in the new native. I even wear it at church. It is nice for people to be able to look at him without touching. I have tried the over the shoulder, the maya and this. I love it. I am ordering another one for the summer...
There are much better options out there!
Before my baby was born, I was given two sling/carrier devices: The Ultimate Baby Wrap and a Snugli front pack. I tested both out with dolls and didn't feel confident enough with either to want to put my newborn inside. I decided I wanted the simplest carrier out there, which is why I picked the New Native. It's basically a fabric pouch that slips over the shoulder. There are no rings, no straps, no buckles, nothing. The baby simply sits or lies in the pouch.
Well, for starters my newborn HATED lying down in this. I couldn't really blame her, either. The design of the pouch caused her to curl way up into a ball, to the point that I was afraid her chin was always too far down on her chest and her airway would be blocked. The sides of the pouch always flopped over and covered her face, too. I wasn't able to use any of the more upright carries because my baby was too young and didn't have head control.
Wearing the New Native was difficult for me, too. Putting it on was simple enough, but since it's kind of like carrying a baby in a handbag slung over your shoulder, the baby's weight isn't well distributed at all. My back was always aching when I used this, and my baby weighed only 9 pounds at the time. I can't imagine using this with a heavier baby much less a toddler!
Finally, the sizing of the New Natives is way off. I called the company and spoke with a representative before buying, and she recommended I buy a large. However, even after washing and drying the sling held my baby at about hip height - far too low - which threw off my center of gravity (and contributed to the back pain I mentioned earlier). The baby really should be held above the parent's belly-button level to reduce back strain and to keep the baby closer to the parent (in the New Native, the baby has a lot of "swing" out from the parent's body because the sling itself is so long).
All in all, while I'm a huge fan of babywearing and slings, I am NOT a fan of the New Native. For a truly excellent sling, check out the Ultimate Baby Wrap instead.
