BEST WARM WEATHER CARRIER
We used this carrier while visiting Thailand for a month in 95+ Humid days. It was so conducive to traveling and touring the city and countryside. Our little girl (4months) comfortably slept while we visited the palaces and temples; walked 4 miles each day; rode the train without limiting my mobility or overheating baby or mom. We used the our BabyBjorn instead of a stroller and were so thankful we did. BabyBjorn can go so many places that strollers can't.

It isn't bulky, it breathes well, washes easily, and baby can easily be removed while sleeping and put into a crib.
Bjorn Air/Classic vs. Synergy/Active vs. Comfort vs. Ergo
I'm a bit compulsive so we own quite a few carriers. For the purposes of this review, I'll skip slings, and stick to backpack style shoulder strap carriers. Specifically the Bjorn line and the Ergo.

Ergo: The most comfortable of the bunch! While it can get a little toasty for both you and baby on warm days, both wife and I felt that we could wear it just about forever. Unlike most backpack carriers, the Ergo has a waist belt on which most of the baby's weight rests. Those of you who've used a hiking backpack know exactly how much this helps. For those who don't, there's a padded band that sits just above your hips. When worn correctly most of the baby's weight is distributed across your hips greatly reducing the stress/load on your shoulders and back. Unfortunately for us, our little monkey recently decided that she must face out, and the Ergo only allows them to face in. So it's been sitting in unused in the closet for several weeks.

Bjorn Air/Classic: Smallest, lightest and easiest to use. We have the "Air" model, and the special fabric actually does work to keep you and your baby cool. It's my preferred carrier for quick jaunts and hot days. But the wife and nanny will wear it only if they have to. It is by far the least comfortable carrier we own. The shoulder straps are unpadded and relatively thin so they really dig into your shoulders. I find it merely a bit annoying, but the wife says she can't wear it for more than 5 or 10 minutes before it really starts to hurt.

Bjorn Synergy/Active: Basically the Air/Classic but with wider, padded shoulder straps and a lumbar support piece. While a little more comfortable than the Air/Classic, it is still a far cry from the comfort of the Ergo. While the lumbar support is okay, the fundamental problem remains: all the weight is still placed on the shoulders.

Bjorn Comfort: The newest Bjorn, and by far the most comfortable. It has very wide and nicely padded straps, and like the Ergo, the Comfort has a padded waist band! While it isn't quite as comfortable as the Ergo, it comes close. I have used it for multi-hour walks with no back or shoulder discomfort. And unlike the Ergo, baby can face in or out.
A couple minor complaints. First it is quite bulky. Given the way its constructed, its actually much bulkier than even the Ergo, so it's not the easiest thing to stuff in a bag/under the stroller. Second is that as of yet you cannot buy additional bibs. One bib is included, but given how much we use the thing it's nice to have a second (note the Bjorn bibs currently sold are NOT COMPATIBLE with the Comfort). Plus while it doesn't seem as warm as the Ergo, you and baby will be plenty sweaty on hot days.

All these carriers seem very well made, and with the sole exception of the Air, I feel will last a long, long time (while so far so good, I have some reservations about the long run durability of the fabric shoulder straps of the Air). Currently we mostly use the Comfort, but I still bust out the Air on hot days or for short jaunts and all in all we are quite happy with the carrier situation. But we still have hope that one day our little one will deign to face in so we can bust out the Ergo again.

---ERGO---
Pros: Most comfortable
Cons: Baby can only face in. A little warm on hot days.

---Bjorn Air/Classic---
Pros: Easiest to get baby into/out of. Air is fabulous for hot days. Smallest and lightest (great for packing).
Cons: Least comfortable. Some concern about durability of Air fabric.

---Bjorn Synergy/Active---
Pros: More comfortable than Air/Classic
Cons: Still no waist strap!

---Bjorn Comfort---
Pros: Comfort (almost as good as the Ergo)
Cons: A little warm on hot days. Can't purchase replacement/extra bibs. Bulkiest of all four carriers.
If your a mom, you wont be disappointed.
I researched baby carriers quite a bit before I purchased the Baby Air. I love this because I'm pretty functional with my three month. We go on walks and I do a good amount inside our home. He loves it because he's pretty comfortable and so am I and the best part is he's close to my chest, so he can here my heartbeat. Which as a mother knows is a nice quality. It seems to calm him down to know he's with me and me be able to rock him and do things around the house too. I live in Salt Lake City and it can get pretty warm here in the summer. It was important for me to find something that will breathe on those hot summer days. Whats also a great part about the carrier is that it supports his head and I never have to worry about him bobbing around. The flap does fold down so when it comes to that time you can turn him around to face forward. It also has a small mesh bag built into the bottom strap to fold and travel with. Easy adjustable and really light. Great pick and I couldn't be happier :)
must have
I would not have survived motherhood beautifully without the BabyBjorn Carrier Air. I have used it for both my children (a boy then a girl). It is easy to don and doff, baby is very comfortable and happy in it, and I have both my hands free! My kids just hated being in a stroller.
Ok for when baby was small & light....
I loved this when my daughter was small, but when she got around 13-14 pounds my back killed. Her little feet and legs would also turn purple after 15 minutes. Not good. Go with the Ergo carrier if you can afford it- baby can't be front facing but you can wear baby on your hip or back so they can see forward. Ergo carrier distributes the weight much better and doesn't cut off their circulation.

Something we can't live without!
My son was born 9 lbs 4 oz and we have been using this item since the very begining. We love it. Unlike other slings and carriers, this one can be worn by both me and my 6ft 4in husband with little adjustments. Babies love to be close to you and on your chest, the rocking movement as you walk puts them right to sleep when they are young and later they get to learn and enjoy the world at the same eye level as you, which I found my son gets less frustrated than in the stroller. The carrier is really practical when we shop. We do not have to worry about any stranger coming up and touch the baby and we can go anywhere with our two free hands. I recommend the air carrier more than the other bjorns because it is lighter and has a mesh to circulate some air. One may think that it is not necessary if you live in a cooler climate, but we also found ourselves wearing it in the house while doing some chores.
Although I really like this product and would never leave home without it, there are three caveats. One is that, just like any other carrier; you will strenghten your back no matter what. So while you are carrying and walking the baby around to do everyday things, you will get a work out and loose baby fat, sorry. Second, I found that it works better for an infant/newborn not to put the arms through the openings but to tuck them close to the baby. This way it ensures the sense of security and it will be more enjoyable for the both of you. Third, is that keep massaging those little feet. This will not only enhance the sense of bonding with your newborn but it will keep circulation going in those already hard to get extremities.
Not very comfortable
I was so excited to have a carrier for my 1st child. I had heard such wonderful things about the baby bjorn carriers. I received this one as a gift. I followed the directions to a T and was off and running. My infant was 8 lbs. I managed to wear it for about 30 min the first time and had to take him out. My back was really hurting. I waited a few weeks and tried it again... still got a sore back. I went back to the directions, I re-adjusted the straps and needed tylenol that night. Maybe this just wasn't the right carrier for me. $90 down the drain.....

Baby Bjorn--baby carrier
I bought the Baby Bjorn for my daughter's third child and she just loves it. She'd had one before, but it somehow was lost when they moved to another state. She uses it all the time and keeps thanking me for buying it for her.

Wow, it's like a miracle...
We purchased the Bjorn Synergy carrier for our newborn daughter, and it has been one of the best investments in gear that we've made. She LOVES being in the Bjorn, and the head support for her as a newborn is excellent. When she's fussy, putting her in the Bjorn immediately calms her down. Sometimes she'll fall asleep, but other times she'll be bright-eyed and spend her time looking around and taking in the sights as we go about our chores.

Also, a note for tall folks. I'm 6'5" and my wife is 5'11", and we are both able to use this carrier comfortably. At first I felt I couldn't use it, even with the straps at the longest settings, because the lumbar support panel sat up way too high on my back, but then we figured out that the lumbar support will slide down along the straps, and allows for adjustments that are NOT SHOWN IN THE MANUAL. All the manual says about the lumbar support is that you should tighten the lumbar straps first, it does not describe that the lumbar support is mobile and can be adjusted up and down the straps. Once we figured this out, I was able to comfortably wear the carrier.

Another nice feature is the fabric, which is an open mesh weave. We live in Central Texas, and the heat here in the summer is oppressive, and the winters don't really get cold, and the mesh fabric allows for us and our daughter to be as comfortable as possible when we're outside. In fact, we were almost ready to purchase the Baby Bjorn Baby Air Carrier, Grey/White because of the open weave, but then we discovered that the Synergy is made from the same material, but also includes the lumbar support feature, which was very important to us.

So even though the carrier is a bit pricey, it has been worth every penny for us.
complex to put on
The original was so much easier to set up, adjust, and put on. Most of the time I get frustrated. So far, I tried putting my baby in it 10-15 times. Perhaps it will get better with practice. He does not like it yet so I don't get much practice.
Excellent carrier
This is an excellent baby carrier and is so comfortable to wear. My daughter loved being carried in it facing me, she'd nap away. Now that she's big enough she loves looking out. The back support is wonderful. I carried her through NYC for hours and never had any trouble with my back or shoulders. Great padding and adjustments. I particularly like that it's so breathable so neither of us get too hot.
Good carrier with lots of support
Serves its purpose. Great for when going grocery shopping. Seems breathable enough, but a bit stiff for my taste. Material is mesh but not as soft as I would have liked. Baby doesn't seem to mind though. I have an Evenflo Snugli for home use and it is much softer, minus the lumbar straps that Bjorn provides. All in all, am glad I got the top of the line Bjorn, especially since Amazon had it for alot cheaper than store price, free shipping, no tax! I originally bought it from Babys R Us, liked it, but returned it once I saw Amazon sold it for cheaper. I told Babys R Us since they couldn't match the price, they just lost some money. Ordered it here and am a happy, happy, customer. Good product to own, even better when you can save some money since it is indeed alot more expensive than most!
Excellent If You Have a Good Back and a Light Baby...
When my daughter was looking for baby carriers, I really encouraged her to purchase a Baby Bjorn Synergy carrier. The mesh material seemed as if would would allow for good air circulation, and I felt it would be comfortable for the baby and for the person carrying the child. Several of the individual who would be using the carrier are hot-natured, so the lighter, aerated fabric seemed to be a real positive. Further, I liked the fact that one could position an older infant facing outward while still carrying the child on one's front. Since my daughter was able to work from home, this seemed to be an ideal way for her to keep her baby close while allowing him to have a good view of his world. Additionally, it seemed the outward facing position would help keep him from grabbing her lips or the telephone during teleconferences. As the Synergy is one of the few carriers on the market that allows the baby to face outward, while being carried on the adult's front side, it seemed to be a fine choice.

Unfortunately, we found that for all its positive features, the Synergy was not everything we expected it to be. The Baby Bjorn Synergy might have worked well if all the adults carrying the baby had had healthy backs. We thought the lumbar support was to have helped in this area. Instead, we found that because of the waist strap, the baby's weight was concentrated on our lower back instead of resting on our hips as weight would with a good quality backpack. My son-in-law is an avid hiker and even he could not reconfigure the Baby Bjorn so that the weight was distributed more comfortably. Further, our grandson was and is a large child - so using the Baby Bjorn Synergy for more than 30 minutes is out of the question - anyone who did so, even those with healthy backs, had significant back discomfort. Thus, we were unable to use the Synergy for carrying the baby for any length of time. This is quite disappointing as he is interested in seeing the world and loved riding on our front when any of us carried him that way.

Perhaps if we all had healthy backs and a lighter child to carry, the Baby Bjorn Synergy would have received a higher rating. However, the expense of this item is greater than its utility and I cannot give it a higher rating. I would recommend looking at the Beco carrier which has excellent lumbar support and is easily adjustable for multiple users.

People ask me every day: "How do you do?" Refers to how children cope. Things were very clear when reasonable that a woman, and my daughter was a baby very champion OK. I have been blessed with three babies. But even when you have the most babies with talent, with three children within fourteen months may have a mild delicate.

Joseph, the baby is a special baby. It is already sleeping through the darkness, a stroke of luck because I'm not a camper elated when I wake up at 3 am to anticipate and change a baby crying.A part of me wonders if he knows that he is the fourth and Lassie takes to be a pure baby because mom has to because of my three children ahead of others. But regardless of how it is sufficient, there are days were Jose wants to be held throughout the life of convenience.

Joseph was a few weeks ago after complaining that he gave his guts. Later with lyrics that, as his greatest teammate Luis, have acid reflux. Children should be at lunch, and were the dawn to get restless and frilly. I get the clothes maddening to complete, as I felt like I was running that eats the breath in the dirty clothes heap livid.I was about to pass, when I remembered my BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Air.

About a week before I had loved my BABYBJÖRN air from the box and tried to put it on. Although he had three older sons, who never really had occasion a carrier before. He had bought two companies last year who sat on the hip to participate in my calves, but had no intention of carrying two babies at once (each company crossed my advice to you when I got in the two babies that struck exactly my big cheese!) and put the twins in them once and never has been reoccupied. So when I took the air box was a mini confused with how to put it on and how to get the baby correctly. I understand the instructions and was very keen imagination, so do not think I fully browse how to say, and I instantly gave up and put back in the box....
